My name is Xavier. I was born in Barcelona... a long time ago. I grow up in this town, but now I live a bit far from here. I studied at the University of Barcelona and in Huddersfield (near Shefield, Halifax, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool,...not very far from York: quite nice places and better people), and I've been teaching Catalan, Spanish, Phillsofy, History and English for a long time...since I was 16. What happened? Very short, I promise: I was walking down the street two years ago, from just opposite this private school, and I thought myself: well, you might enter this place and see. I like English language very much... and the UK,... but I don' t have a poster of the Queen on my bedroom's wall. It was a sort of a blind date. And there she was: her smile, her diligence, effectiveness. Eva listened to me. And after two weeks she was texting me for a class. Please, Xavier, can you cover for some classes? And here I am. English Studio, Academy of English in Barcelona, where I used to be a teacher until Covid 19 knocked at the door of our lives, and teachers and students had to be at home. Professional Objective: English teacher. Morning shift: Professional experience More than 15 years in several Contact Centers as an Agent or as a Team Leader or Supervisor. And last but not least, every day monitoring work, keeping an eye on the activity of premium learners, ensuring the team was taking the necessary proactive action, either by phone or email. I had to support very often other colleagues in accordance with business needs and to share ideas to improve business practices and the quality of the service. Maths is a subject which is often hated by many people as it is viewed as 'difficult' to understand. However, understanding Maths is not as hard as it may seem and can be an amazing achievement for many. Even now when I finally understand a mathematical concept I feel a huge sense of achievement! I pride myself on being a very personable tutor, connecting with my students personality-wise. All my students have said they feel comfortable and calm around me, which is something I believe significantly helps them achieve their goals! They know that even if they get an answer wrong, with me, it's okay because we'll work on it together in the best, most efficient way possible. Aside from Maths, I love to travel, sing, dance, read self-improvement books and invest! I am passionate about teaching young people about investing, since I think it is an important concept to understand and not gate-keep. All lessons are based on previous classes and what you personally feel you need to work on in that particular lesson. We'll also go through exam papers from the very beginning, so you know what's ahead. Everything is well prepared and well thought of to ensure you get the most out of each and every session. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions :) A few of my personal achievements in Maths have been: - Obtaining a First Class Honours in my Maths degree - Obtaining 100 in C3 - Obtaining 96 in M1 (I found Mechanics extremely difficult at first!) - Achieving an A* at GCSE - Tutoring over 50 students to meet their Maths goals over 10+ years! -A Level Modules Studied: C1, C2, C3, C4, S1, S2, M1, M2, D1, FP1, FP2, FP3 -Degree Modules Studied: Calculus and Analysis 1-3, Linear Algebra 1-3, Differential Equations, Geometry, Statistics, Probability, Financial Mathematics, Actuarial Mathematics, Theory of Linear Algebra, Advanced VBA and Excel, Business Mathematics. -Masters Modules Studied: Accounting, International Finance, Quantitative Methods in Finance, Valuation, Derivatives, Fixed Income Analysis, Corporate Finance, Capital Markets. Ona - Barcelona29€
Trusted teacher: I am a native teacher from Barcelona, with a degree in History and as a Spanish teacher for foreigners. I have been teaching Spanish and Catalan private lessons for over 10 years, but I’ve also taught in the context of cultural associations and the French and Catalan national education. I am always happy to be part of my students’ learning journey; no matter what level you have, we will learn plenty of things together! :) I offer dynamic Catalan online classes adapted to each person and their needs. My lessons are oriented to all levels, using the language in real and pedagogic contexts. As a teacher, I am very interested in letting my students learn not only the language but also the Catalan culture, as it is a fundamental aspect to really be able to succeed in the learning process. In order to do so, we will work on all the different competences (oral and writing skills), grammar and vocabulary, of course, but also I like to use some real texts, videos, songs, etc., so we can get the chance to learn from real instructional materials and discuss the news and culture. The most important thing is to try to communicate in Catalan so you will become more and more fluent. We will get there step by step! I’ve helped a lot of students pass their exams, prepare their interviews and resumes, or just be comfortable in their oral practise. I am used to teach a language from scratch, I have long experience teaching high levels as well. Please, contact me for further information and let me know how I can help you.

Ona
Ona has been a much better teacher than I could've hoped for. First and foremost, she has the ability to be very adaptable with respect to the way that she instructs you. Whether it be observing and understanding how the student learns most effectively or more explicitly, you can tell what you want to learn and how you'd like to do so. Many teachers, I have found, have a method and stick with it, without consideration of how a student may learn best. That ability on its own distinguishes between what is a good/average teacher and a GREAT teacher or coach. She is also extremely kind and patient (something very important for me, as I tend to struggle!), which makes learning something difficult and a bit exhausting at times, much more enjoyable than it would be otherwise. S-Tier Instructor!

Sanja
Sanja is fantastic! Her attitude towards how she teaches is refreshing as she let's her students, and actively encourages, making a song their own. I organised this for my fiancée as a surprise birthday present and she absolutely loved the experience! She is a very visual learner so the worksheets that Sanja had prepared were perfect, despite being aimed at kids, they worked wonders for her! I was allowed to sit close by too so I could enjoy the whole experience which was lovely. Thank you so much!! And we have already organised the next lesson.

Raef
I found Dr. Ralf to be a wonderful Teacher. The things that he taught me through online helped me a great deal in this class as well as in statistic level. Because of the help and attention that He provided me with, I understand and enjoy Statistics. The class was great in that he didn’t just give the answers away – he made me THINK. This was sort of frustrating, but it helped me understand the material much better. I would recommend him as a Teacher for future classes, without a doubt.
