My approach consists of giving you the necessary theoretical knowledge for what you wish to play; involving you actively in the choice of the pieces/songs you will play; setting up a long-term plan for your repertoire, so that your development is made step by step in a challenging - but achievable - way (and this way, you will feel more motivated!); giving you enjoyable and creative practicing strategies; creating rich imagery revolving around the piece - by making up a story, relating the music to emotions, etc.; and also positive feedback! Thus, my lessons will allow you to: - Learn how to read scores. -Develop your musical understanding (from notes, rhythm, and harmony, to musical taste, and emotional comprehension of the music, or dive into aesthetic principles concerning the period and style of the piece,...). -Improve, step by step, until you are able to play that piece/song that you love. -Prepare yourself for exams. -Etc. Furthermore, I organize Students' Concerts, giving you the chance to play in a fantastic grand piano, and sharing with others all the work you've done! Trusted teacher: Hi there! My name is Norica. I am a pianist and a piano teacher from Tokyo. Just quickly to the point: My approach is holistic and systematic. It uses lots of fun exercises and nice educational materials from Japan in addition to the Internationally recognized standard books. (Don't worry, you don't have to understand Japanese!) You learn not only how to play piano but also how music works- music theory. I know what my students are good at and not so good at right off the bat. That's why I can tailor the lesson plans to their goals and needs. Also, if you like to take an ABRSM exam, the syllables will be tailored accordingly. So what will be tested on the day of the exam is integrated into the lessons and my class/lesson offers all-round preparation for the exam. I have helped my students pass G1, 3, 5 and 6 with a good score. Another important aspect of my lesson is to focus on improving cognitive skills - increasing memory, right-hand-left-hand-coordination, sustained attention, nonverbal communication, and a feeling of independence and freedom. I do so with unique materials from Japan and fun training. Currently students from 4 to 75 years old are taking my lessons. I was thinking, that learning Chinese is extremely difficult, however, thanks to Shan,  this language becomes more and more clear for me. Every lesson is very productive and I feel, that I progress fast! Today, there are numerous teachers, who can teach you Chinese. However, only a few of them can make the educational process so interesting and enjoyable. Luckily for me, Shan is one of them and I am very happy, that I found her. Shan is very precise and corrects every my mistake. She can easily explain how to properly pronounce words with different tones, how to write syllables, the grammar and many more. I like, that with her, I am not just memorising Chinese language, but I do really understand it. Overall, without a doubt, I can say, that Shan is a great teacher! 心💕
