Hello! My name is Bjørk and I’m a professional double bass player living and teaching here in Amsterdam. I have 2 diplomas in Jazz Bass from Sweden and a degree in Jazz Bass Performance from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I love teaching and I have taught since 2016. And I love the bass! I teach double bass, electric bass, composition, improvisation and music theory. I have experience teaching complete beginners with zero prior musical knowledge to more advanced players. I have been playing the trumpet for more than 15 years and have experience in many different music genres like Jazz, Pop, Classical, Baroque. I graduated from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana. I used to do a lot of teaching (young to old) when I was still residing in Slovenia. My desired goal as a teacher is to show you an easy and fun way to master a new skill or some new aspects of it, but not to fill your head with unnecessary things that will make your progress hard and slow. I have studied with some of the biggest names of classical and jazz trumpet worldwide like: Omar Tomasoni, Miroslav Petkov, Reinhold Friedrich, Chris Colleti and many more.
