Hello, I'm Luís, an enthusiastic violist currently studying at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerp. With a focus on beginners and intermediate levels, I'm dedicated to help students from all ages discover the passion for music through the violin and viola. Each lesson I offer is carefully tailored to meet the unique needs of every student. Whether you're looking to improve your technical skills, refine your posture, overcome specific challenges, or just learn a small piece, I'm here to guide you on your musical journey. My teaching method is flexible, as I can give lessons for a specific purpose (passing an exam, passing a test...) as well as working with people who are just looking to learn an instrument as a hobby. I have experience teaching children from 6 years old up to adults. Depending on the age and the goal you want to achieve with the classes, the lessons can be between 30 and 90 minutes long. I not only give lessons based on my method, but I can also reinforce students who already have a teacher to help them to achieve the work that the teacher has imposed on them by adapting to their way of working.

With over a decade of experience teaching students of all ages and skill levels, I’ve developed a unique method that combines the essential skill of reading sheet music with learning to play basic tunes by ear. Viola and violin lessons suited for all ages and levels! I am originally form Argentina, and a recent graduate form the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (with a Masters degree in music performance -viola). I have lived in many different countries and played with a variety of ensembles, I am sure together we will find the best way to learn and practice these beatiful instruments in the best possible way (: Classes can be offered in English, Portuguese, or Spanish (French coming soon!) For the younger ones, lessons will be oriented towards the Suzuki method (until ages 12/13)

Hello, I have extensive experience with students of all ages as a teacher of music theory, violin and viola. Custom classes, focused on student interests. I studied violin degree at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Vigo in Spain and viola in Spain and at the Utrechts Conservatorium. The research of my final exam was about well-being and phisical education to improve and accelerate the learning process. I want my students to be aware of the importance of good posture and technique in order to enjoy the learning process without problems.

Professional viola and violin based in Berlin, teaching in person at students' location or online, in English, German or Russian. As well as instrumental teaching and ensemble coaching of at all levels over the last 12 years, I’ve led numerous professional workshops, including ‘Music First’ and ‘Music Masters’ workshops in London and was an assistant on the Primary Arpeggione viola course and at the Springgrove music competition. As a member of the European String Teachers’ Association, I participated in their conferences across Europe. I have prepared students for music exams at all levels, working with them on music theory, aural and sight reading skills, and regularly accompany students on the piano. As a performing musician, I appear as a soloist and chamber musician internationally, recently including at the ‘Gstaad Menuhin’, ‘Schiermonnikoog’ and 'Rome Chamber Music' festivals. I have participated in several international competitions, notably receiving the Barbirolli prize at the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition 2019, 1st prize at the Małopolska competition, and the Len Lickorish Memorial Prize at the Royal Overseas League International Strings Competition. I hold a masters degree with first class honours from the class of Tabea Zimmermann at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, and Bachelors with the same distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in London. I attended the International Musicians Seminar at Prussia Cove on four occasions and have collaborated with composers Garth Knox, Vasilis Alevizos and Thomas Jones on their new works, with performances in London and at the Agora Music Festival in Luxembourg. As a chamber musician I have played with the 12, Seida and 4|12 ensembles, as well as with musicians of the Berlin Philharmonic and clarinettist Matthew Hunt at HellensMusic festival, with Tabea Zimmermann at the Laeiszhalle Hamburg, with Claudio Martínez Mehner and Christoph Poppen in Santander, and with members of the ARC ensemble at the Music of Exile Festival in Toronto, Canada, amongst others. I was a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra in 2018, and a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain from 2014-2015, appearing on BBC Radio 3 broadcasts and a televised BBC Prom, as well as being involved in the NYO outreach programme ‘inspire’ in schools across London, including workshops and interactive performances at the Royal Festival Hall. ** Reviews Below **
