Viola and Violin Lessons: Focus on Technique, Music Theory, Ear Training, Ergonomics and Self-Discipline

Hi! My name is Charlie and I'm currently a member of the Opera Ballet Vlaanderen Orchestra. Teaching has been the foundation of my musical life for over a decade. My teaching studio has hosted a private studio in Oslo, New York, Connecticut and now Antwerp. While living in New York I was the viola and violin professor at Pluckd Studio where I helped prepare students for music festivals, auditions and to establish a sound foundational approach to instrumental playing. While a student at Juilliard, I coached students in Juilliard’s Pre-College/MAP program and helped lead children’s concerts in Chicago, Austin, New York and Oslo. Whether you are a beginner, conservatory student or young professional, you can expect a passionate and attentive lesson plan that will help you achieve your goals.

My lessons are offered in person! :)

Violin or viola private lessons for children or adults
I am a professional viola player from Estonia, currently living in Antwerpen. I have studied in multiple conservatories in Europe and have been a member of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. I enjoy working with children and I have experience teaching toddlers violin from the age of 3. Of course at that age it's more about the discovery of the sound and rhythm in our bodies in general 😊 I have also taught adults and I must say that some of my best conversations and connections have been made through teaching music to grown ups who want to learn something for themselves. I have had total beginners as well as adults who once studied at a music school and had quit for various reasons. If you are already a student who just needs some support in technique/general music ideas, then I'm also very happy to help. I have been guided by many kind and knowledgeable teachers and I would love to share what I've learned over the years. I work in English(or maybe very broken Italian 🥲, since I studied there for 2 years). So if you are someone who needs help with violin/viola, then please feel free to contact me.

Violoncelle, music introduction, history of music, and music-movement lessons.
For the study of the instrument, we will focus on a dynamic between, the study of the violoncelle and his technique, using scores, melodies, and improvisation. A method based also on the connection between brain-body that allows one to improve and enjoy the art of practicing in different ways. Anyway, each student requires a specific method, depending on their dedication and objectives. The assigned method varies between students and growth by levels; this situation makes teachers make a decision. Sometimes the explanation is required in a theoretical or more dynamic way through videos, music, own compositions, improvisation, imitation, and feelings. The study of music is an advantage aye allows me to develop theory, information, and suggestions more communicatively, so don't hesitate to contact me in case that you just wanna learn and enjoy classical and nowadays music and performances.

I am a professional violinist based in Antwerp, currently finishing a master in pedagogy in the Conservatory of Mons. I propose to teach the violin to children or adults. I adapt as much as possible to everyone, according to what you want to play with the violin :) I am also looking a lot for the best posture, to find the most comfortable way of playing for each student. I am free in the weeks and in the weekend, so feel free to contact me! ----------------------------------------------- I am a professional violinist currently living in Antwerp. I am also in pedagogy training at the Conservatory of Mons. I propose to give lessons at home, I adapt to each student, according to the time he devotes to the instrument and his tastes. The approach of the instrument for beginners can be done in a "classic" way (through exercises, studies, pieces) or more playful. I can also give notions of music theory in addition! Possibility also to work only by ear. I focus a lot on the feeling, the relaxation and the posture, so that playing the violin is still a pleasure. I can give classes in French or English.
