Hi! I'm Marcella and I'm Italian. I'm an Italian and Spanish Teacher for foreigners graduated in European Languages and Cultures and DELE certified. I would love to introduce you to the Italian and Spanish languages through conversation sessions, study of grammar and interactive activities, so that you can see the use of the language and remember the topics you have just learned easily and in the long term. If you are a Spanish speaker or have studied Spanish and now feel ready to start studying the Italian language, I would like to help you understand the differences and common aspects between these two languages to facilitate learning through thought associations. I have been teaching Italian for more than 30 years. I started in Milan, I then went to San Francisco and now here in London. My first lesson with you would be to assess your level and start speaking Italian by writing in the chat if we are on Skype or on your notebook if we meet face to face. I use also paintings to explore vocabulary and if you live here in London, we would meet at the National Gallery for example and explore the Italian language through what we see in the painting.

Italian language and culture. According to the student’s level, I will provide both online or in person lessons on Italian vocabulary, grammar and, where appropriate, on some issues and topics in Italian culture and literature. We will focus on listening, reading, writing and speaking and we will prioritize one of these competences according to the student’s necessities.

I am a physiotherapist and osteopath who loves her job, always studying and learning new ways of working and instruments that I can use in my practice. The course is aimed at a wide range of students with a general interest in Italian. No prior knowledge of Italian is required as the course is for complete beginners. Objectives of the course: To acquire basic language skills and to achieve the equivalent of A1 level. A communicative approach is used. All four skills (speaking, reading, listening and writing) are practiced, with the main emphasis on speaking. The student engage in interactive language activities according to a syllabus based on systematic grammatical progression. The student will also be offered guidance in self-study and set optional homework tasks.

If you wish to brush up your Italian, resume a past series of lessons, or simply start from scratch learning Italian, this is the right lesson for you! I like to personalize each class/course according to the needs and goals of my students. My classes are focused on improving the student's communication skills. At beginner and lower intermediate levels, I prefer using a text book/ student book in the first part of the class. I usually use "Nuovissimo Progetto Italiano" and "Arrivederci" by Edilingua, or "Nuovo Espresso" and "Dieci" by Alma Publishing. For the second part of the lesson, I create engaging contents using original videos, press articles, extracts from blogs and social media, literary texts. If the students do not feel comfortable using Italian from scratch, I can switch to English, German, or Dutch. The course fee includes the correction of home assignments.
