I have been playing piano since I was nine years old. But from highschool I studied bassoon along with piano as a secondary instrument. Since highschool and university I have been giving piano lessons for children and adults along with my studies. I have also taken basic classical guitar lessons and learned how to play soprano and alto recorder

My aim in teaching is to inspire students to become as involved in music as they possibly can, and find an interest in it that will stay with them forever. I have nearly 10 years of experience teaching, and have a piano at my home or can travel to your home. I have a BMus Degree from Trinity Laban Conservatoire as well as an ATCL from Trinity College. In addition, I've studied at the Conservatorium of Music in Sydney, Australia. My primary focus is around classical music, but I am experienced in teaching Music Theory as well as non-classical styles.

My name is Maaike, I am 25 and graduated from Conservatorium Haarlem where I studied Voice, in May 2018. I've been playing the piano since I was little, both classical and popular repertoire, and also started singing while simultaneously playing the piano or guitar to accompany myself. I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Pianist and musicologist, I have been teaching piano in all styles (classical, jazz, film and popular music) to students of all ages for almost 20 years.
