Fine Arts and Creative class for adults and children

I give art classes with different kinds of activity. My focus is on drawing, painting, clay crafting and collage. The method is between a classical approach and free attitude. On the lessons a child will start from basic knowledge of shapes, light, shadows, colour etc., and then continue through practice with differen assigments. She or he will work with drawing from life and from imagination. While improving we will work with illustrations, developing characters and create a visual stories. For little children I have a program in which drawing mixes with play. Additionally, if there is interest, I conduct classes in linocut, monotype and lettering.

Art classes provide a different form of knowledge and expression, engaging children’s senses, and challenging their creativity. I believe art should not only be practiced by talented kids, as it can open up new interests, as well as help them develop a set of tools to express themselves better. The classes are shaped towards discovering the multifaceted aspects of art through experimenting with different crafts, mediums, and techniques beyond painting and drawing, as well as familiarizing the participant with various artists and art currents. The lessons are adapted according to the age, as well as interests and inclinations of the student. Considering my background in art and architecture, if there is interest in that, it is possible to dive into related topics, architectural drawing, and model-making exercises (suitable for almost any age).

I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen. I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist. I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns. In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on. You will not only receive individual coaching but as encourage you to look other artists or take into account other references connected with your concerns. Finding, discussing and retaking solutions together are the core of my classes.

These online workshops offer opportunity for arrival, expansion and connection through a combination of meditation, movement and story-making exercises. Each workshop lasts 90 minutes and a typical session may include stretching and movement exercises, improvisation games, collaborative storytelling and guided meditation. Each session offers the opportunity for experiencing and practicing grounding (being connected to our present space and time) and offers us connection with our imagination, with our creativity and with the others in our group. Egg tempera is one of the most ancient historical art painting technique. It preserved as a main technique to paint orthodox religious icons. It is possible to learn it and paint your own icon. I have 9 years of practice teaching people how to do it. We work together step by step to understand the technique, the way to prepare wooden panel to paint an icon and the techniques of making a good project to make the icon fit to the board. We also learn how to make gold leaf layer on the nimbs. Your icon will be a real, crafted icon.
