Pianist and choir director with 20 years of experience, I offer singing and piano lessons in different styles. Singing lessons focus on breath control, breath development, posture, vocal technique, intonation, as well as performance and expression on stage. The students have the opportunity to sing pieces chosen by themselves and/or guided by me (accompanied by my piano). Private and group lessons are available, with a repertoire-building approach. In addition, I offer coaching for recording sessions and artistic development.

My experience of more than 15 years of guitar, and my practice of music as a multi-instrumentalist (percussion, piano, trumpet...) for 25 years, have allowed me to develop a global knowledge of music allowing me to understand the links between theory, musical harmony, rhythm and technique. My goal is to encourage self-expression. I use musical knowledge (theoretical, musical harmony, rhythm, etc.) with the symbolism of the latter to explain how music is a language, in other words a means of expression and sharing that allows us to connect, to communicate, but also to celebrate and have fun. My lessons are totally adapted to the creation of songs as well as accompaniment with singing. My experience: 8 years of teaching (jazz, blues, Brazilian music, Latin and Afro-Latin music...). It is the diversity of cultures and the wealth of knowledge that drives me to continue to study everything within my reach. I'm interested in jazz, classical music, Indian music, rock and electronic music ... I hate taboos and separations between the musical worlds and I think that everyone wins to share their knowledge and their modes of operation. My way of thinking about learning Music: I prefer to stay on a principle of pleasure and sharing specific to music. I find it important to adapt to feed the motivation of the student, especially for young people with whom it is very important to have a fun approach. Too many students leave demotivated classes of music schools or conservatory; that I practiced for 5 years (since despite my criticisms I still have a prize of jazz conservatory and I followed the training to obtain the DE of jazz which is a diploma of pedagogy). This involves learning the mechanisms based on improvisation, understanding chords, rhythm and melody. Regarding the repertoire I am based on the culture of the students, after all they are the main concerned! So the choices of the pieces depend on the desires and the tastes. The mode of learning depends on the musical style approached, for example I will not make music theory to someone who wants to play the AC / DC (unless he wishes) conversely a person who wants to address jazz can hardly do without notions about harmony. The purpose of this approach is to develop the independence of the student. The teacher is there to accompany the student at the beginning; he must not become a guardian who can sometimes be transformed over the years into a crutch! This is my way of seeing pedagogy!

From my childhood I have been studying music and art: sang in choir and solo, played piano, painted, studied music history and literature, solfeggio. Later in college I have also learned choir conducting, had ensemble and choir singing lessons, cultural studies. During last year in university I had pedagogy practice at university and at private art school (where I worked as a music tutor before the war - piano, voice). I truly enjoyed working with students. They all were different age (8 - 40+ years old) and level. But all were very interesting and work was pleasant. My education was very various: my core subjects were conducting, choir, voice, piano. So it allowed me to work with children, teens and adults with quite wide range of interests and needs: some students needed/wanted to learn particular composition(s), sometimes pop songs arrangements, some were interested in “introduction” to the music, some wanted to renew skills they gained in their childhood and continue their journey to the music world. In addition I prepared presentations (which contained information about cultural and historical background and musical and character/art analysis). So after graduation from choir conducting faculty (which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in many important compatible branches) I concentrated on studying classical singing and piano, expanded my cultural studies and analysis knowledge, practiced solfeggio and harmony.
