Chemistry tutoring for O, AS & A Levels (Cambridge, Edexcel, GCSE, IGCSE, Boswell, CCVX, IB, etc)

Translated by Google. Click to view original.
My name is Christian, and I have a masters degree in Chemistry (Biomolecular sciences), and a PhD in developmental Biology. For several years now I have been tutoring students for chemistry, math and physics. And perhaps I can help you too?

Although my lessons are given online, the teaching is approached in a personal and lively way. To keep it simple and dynamic I make use of a marker and a whiteboard, and we would have an atmosphere that's in a way comparable to meeting at home.

There's many possible reasons for a student to go look for tutoring, and many have different ways of studying. I'm always very involved with the student's goals and progress, and am optimistic and easily approachable in nature. In my experience there's always a safe and motivating atmosphere during the lessons, which works contagiously; understanding of the subject grows, but also a lot of confidence is gained!

I'd love to hear from you!

About Me

My name is Christian. I have a masters degree in Chemistry (Biomolecular sciences), and a PhD in developmental Biology. I am an experienced tutor for chemistry, math and physics for havo, vwo, bachelor and Cambridge international O, AS, and A-levels. But I can probably also help when you follow a different course.

Lessons will be given online, but the teaching is approached in a personal and lively fashion. During our lessons I make use of a marker and a whiteboard, and create an atmosphere that would be comparable to meeting at home.

There’s many possible reasons for a student to go look for tutoring, and many have different ways of studying. In my experience there’s always a safe and motivating atmosphere during the lessons, which works contagiously; understanding of the subject grows, but also a lot of confidence is gained!

Next to tutoring I am a part time artist (painter and musician), and perhaps that my creative approach also seeps into my style of tutoring. Also you will notice that when your understanding grows, you’ll find more enjoyment in the subject and obtain better grades!

I’d love to hear from you!

Education

In 2006 I obtained my masters in chemistry at Utrecht University (Biomolecular sciences). Following this, I worked for several years at the department of developmental biology at the same University and a PhD student. My PhD was successfully completed in 2012.

Experience / Qualifications

For a few years now I give tutoring in chemistry, math and physics. I am doing this via a few well known tutoring institutes, but also independently.

Very good teacher! I didn't mind at all that the classes were online and Christian created a very nice working atmosphere:)
Thank you very much for tutoring my daughter, age 15, in maths. She found it very helpful and is confident about her test on Monday. We will now regularise the tutoring and are grateful for you to fit her in. Highly recommend this teacher.
My daughter is encouraged to continue learning. Thanks!
So far so good. First lesson went very well. Looking forward for more

I am Christian, graduated in chemistry from the University of Utrecht (Biomolecular sciences), and have a PhD in developmental biology (PhD). In the meantime I have been providing tutoring and exam training in mathematics, chemistry and physics to HAVO and VWO students, but also to HBO and Cambridge international A-level students. And, maybe I can help you too! The lessons are given online, but do this in a personal and lively way. For example, I use a marker and whiteboard, which makes the atmosphere comparable to if I were in your home. There are various reasons why a student would like tutoring, and everyone has their own way of learning. I am always very involved in the student's goals and progress, and I am personally optimistic and approachable in nature. My experience is that a safe and motivating atmosphere is created during lessons, which is contagious and, in addition to understanding the material, I also see students' self-confidence grow. In addition to tutoring, I am a part-time artist (painter and musician), and perhaps my creative, enthusiastic attitude seeps through in how I view science subjects. Sometimes science subjects are experienced as heavy, difficult, boring or rigid. Or maybe you were unlucky with a teacher who couldn't or can't show you the fun in it. You will find that when you understand more about it, you will enjoy it more and you can also get good grades. I'd love to get to know you!

Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics for School Students
In my class, I would like to help my students with the necessary tutoring and proper direction towards understanding natural science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for students at IB level, high school level, and school level. I am familiar with the European School system, International School System, and A-level. I myself was among the top 3s during my high school days and since then I have a great experience tutoring. I would look into problems from the student's point of view. This enables me to know where they are having difficulty and then help them study nicely.

Marco
Full-time IB & A-Level tutor with an MBA and BSc specialising in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Economics, and Biology.
ms-tutoring.com I've been tutoring since I was sixteen years old. What started as a small hobby of providing extra-curricular help for some of my IB classmates 10 years ago, has now gradually evolved into a full-time passion of mine that I derive deep fulfilment from. In addition to the joy I feel from the teaching process itself, the fundamental reason I enjoy what I do lies in the mentorship I give to my students, and in providing for them a clarity in perspective, confidence in their own potential, and an unwavering support throughout a time in their life when things feel overwhelming and confusing. Having graduated the IB in 2014 from École Jeannine Manuel in Paris, and endured the gruelling and competitive university selection process, I remember first-hand how much pressure students experience at this critical stage of their academic careers - a time when attaining a particular grade boundary dictates whether or not they'll be able to attend their dream university, and begin the life they've envisioned for themselves. This hyper-fixation on academic performance is often complemented by a collective learning environment that can easily neglect the unique, subtle nuances of each individual's learning style and pace. In wanting to do well, students often find themselves mitigating a teaching approach that, by necessity, prioritises this group environment, and resort to finding their own way through topics & exams - a path they don't need to navigate alone. This is where I can help. Having been in both the student and teacher roles of the academic experience, I've encountered the range of challenges and pitfalls that often lead to unsuccessful outcomes, and, in the worst cases, a misjudgment of our own abilities, and a lowering of our own potential. In distilling my dual experience, I have understood the keystone component that determines where these outcomes fall: Communication. Any form of learning - and teaching - at their core, rely on a verbal, visual and conceptual exchange between people. The problem, however, is that every person's mind operates with its own distinct vocabulary - one that deserves time and attention to be properly understood, and taught towards. Frameworks that may cement an understanding for one individual - be they teacher or pupil - don't automatically translate to another, particularly when these approaches need to be homogenised and streamlined for collective education. My priority as a private tutor is to be as useful to you & your specific needs as possible. In working together, I'll be able to garner a deep understanding of how and why things make sense to you, and integrate my experience and intuition to develop tailored pedagogical strategies that will surgically refine & reframe both your theoretical and examination skillsets.
