Hello! I’m Miguel, a 22 year-old musician/singer/songwriter, based in London. I’ve been studying music theory and professional violin since I was 4 years old. I started as an orchestra player and went to music school till I was 18, when I started writing and composing my own material. I’d love to share some of the knowledge I’ve gathered through the years with you guys, whether you’re a beginner or already have some experience in the area, I’d love to help in any way I can to increase your abilities and achieve your musical goals. I can travel to your location on specific days of the week, but also offer online sessions if needed

Using jazz music as my specialism, I am able to teach even the most technically challenging concepts in their most basic forms and transfer them to the guitar in their most simple terms. I have taught the guitar, music theory and GCSE and A-Level Music syllabuses for six years to students of all ages and abilities and across every imaginable genre.

Music is a valuable skill that aids learning in other fields too. I would teach basic music theory, and children's music, introducing basic music concepts. I have also attended a music conservatoire from Sept 2016- Aug 2021, playing the cello, and so can teach this for grades 1-3.

If you are an aspiring singer or musician looking to increase your knowledge of music theory and performance confidence you are in the right place! I have just completed my music degree where I specialised in contemporary classical singing and opera. I have experience singing jazz, pop and musical theatre and have completed one year on a Vocal Studies course at a Music Conservatoire. I have Grade VIII in Violin and Classical Voice, Grade VI in piano and Pop and Jazz Vocals and recently achieved a 1st for my final degree recital and composition. The techniques that you gain from classical training can be applied to all genres and give a strong foundation to be able to perform any music you may be interested in. I can also offer help with music theory and shape what I teach to meet your interests and goals. I aim to help you truly love music and gain confidence in your performance and musicianship skills in a safe and encouraging environment. In this class, we'll be looking at the necessary building blocks of the modern guitarist. These topics will include chords, melody, guitar technique, composition and improvisation. Whether you look to implement these skills in jazz or rock, the skills learnt here are applicable to all genres of music.

I also have a BMus music degree from the University of Cardiff and work regularly as a professional pianist and keyboardist. I specialise in tutoring music from beginner level to secondary school, having taught in the classroom up to IB and A Level music. I have taught composition and music technology coursework in these higher level studies and have had students attain a place at Oxford University to read music. No matter if you are a performer, composer, or academic musician, a solid grasp on music theory is extremely important. I have taught theory from beginner to advanced level and can tailor lessons to specific needs.
