Welcome to an exciting journey into the enigmatic world of cosmic rays! This high school-level course is designed to introduce you to the captivating realm of cosmic rays, particles which travel vast distances through the cosmos before reaching earth. This course blends hands-on data analysis with a comprehensive understanding of the theory behind these high-energy particles. Throughout this course, you'll delve into the mysteries of cosmic rays, investigating their origins, detection, and interactions with our atmosphere. Engage in practical experiments and data analysis using real cosmic ray data collected from ground-based detectors, unraveling the patterns and characteristics of these elusive particles. The curriculum is divided in a balanced way between theoretical knowledge and practical application. You'll explore fundamental physics concepts essential to understanding cosmic rays, including particle interactions, (very basic) relativity, quantum mechanics, and astrophysics. Lectures, discussions, and interactive sessions will deepen your understanding of these theoretical foundations and their relevance to cosmic ray research. Do not panic! All the theory is presented in a very engaging way, adapted to the technical level to each student. Key Topics: * Introduction to Cosmic Rays: Origins, Composition, and Detection Methods * Introduction to particle physics detection techniques (with real particle detector examples) * Data Collection and Analysis (python or C/C++): Hands-on Experience with Real Cosmic Ray Data * Astrophysical Implications: Cosmic Rays and the Universe * Advanced Topics (for the very enthusiastic): Cosmic ray astrophysics and state-of-the-art detectors used currently in the research world. Class Format: In the basic variant, this course will blend theory lectures with computer-based data analysis. For the very enthusiastic students, there is also a possibility to build their own particle detector. Assessment: Assessment will be based on a combination of individual and group projects, quizzes, data analysis reports, and a final presentation or research paper that showcases your understanding of cosmic rays, both theoretically and practically. Prerequisites: Curiosity! The only pre-requisite for this course is the curiosity of how our universe works, and what can we do as humans to understand it as much as possible! Join me on this cosmic adventure, where theoretical exploration meets empirical investigation, and together, let's unravel the secrets of these cosmic messengers!

Yin yoga has its origins in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Taoist philosophy and its postures are very close to classical yoga as we know it. Yin yoga postures are performed gently and mindfully. They work in depth on the physical, mental, emotional and energetic levels through stretching and deep breathing. Each posture is held for a certain time in order to bring relaxation and appeasement. On the physical level: Yin yoga works on the deep tissues such as the fascias (envelopes of the organs and muscles), the ligaments, the cartilages or the tendons. It therefore allows a release of tension in the body. Yin yoga is excellent for joint health and mobility. Thus the back, hips and pelvis remain mobile and healthy. It also improves breathing and circulation in the body. This practice is also excellent for the heart, lungs, digestive system, kidneys and intestines. It helps strengthen the joints. On the mental and emotional level: breathing and long postures help channel thoughts and bring more inner peace and calm. Yin yoga could be considered as "mindfulness meditation", because each posture is performed with the greatest attention, the greatest gentleness and the greatest respect for its own limits. We never force, we let it happen. On the energy level: this practice allows the recirculation of energy in the body. It has a very beneficial effect on good circulation in the meridians and the chakras. Finally, yin yoga is perfect in addition to more intense physical activities. So many are the benefits... Photo Yin yoga class Geneva, SonalohaYin yoga class Improved mobility (flexibility) Health and strengthening of joints and ligaments Fascia health and stretching Back mobility and relief Better circulation of energy in the body Protects the body from possible injuries during intense physical exercises Detoxifying Improves intestinal transit Cardiovascular and lung health Helps to regain energy but also relaxation Improved sleep PMS and menstruation relief Gently accompanies the period of menopause Pregnancy support Stress reduction Bring inner calm Calming of the mind Calming and releasing emotions Helps to let go and accept Can help with meditation practice Can help with knowledge / acceptance of oneself and one's limits The four main principles of Yin Yoga Relax the muscles Unlike more dynamic (more yang) yogas which mainly work on strengthening the muscles themselves, yin yoga will work in depth. For this, it is therefore necessary to relax the muscles, so that the postures can achieve the relaxation of the fascias, tendons and ligaments. Be in the feeling of the posture but without pain We are not trying to go as far as possible. We stand where our body indicates. No more no less. And we let time, the body and gravity operate. (“Wu Wei” spirit). Stay in stillness once comfortably seated in the posture. Except, need, if you want to go deeper in the posture or go back, based on respecting your feelings. Hold a while Always respecting the limits specific to each one. A posture can be held between 2 and 10 minutes. For a beginner class, the postures will be held between 2 and 5 minutes. For who ? Companies, individuals. All levels combined.

RYT-200 Yoga Instructor; Pre-Natal & Post-Natal Yoga; Reiki Practitioner Peaceful Mind, Active Life; Positive Energy, Powerful Synergy Like a lot of people, I used to work 9-6 in an office in the luxury retail industry. Day in day out in the busy city of Hong Kong, same routine over and over again. Stress was not getting any less and burden was not getting any lighter. I started questioning myself - What was I fighting for? What are the goals in life? Some might have already figured it out, some are still trying to find out, but for sure everyone is different. I started practicing yoga since 2012. When I first started, it was certainly not my favourite. I was always very impatient, fast-paced, easily stressed and agitated; so yoga for me was too calm, too slow and too still. For the very same reason, I decided to continue and overcome these weaknesses of mine and find balance in myself. Throughout these years of practice, initially I was very focused on the body postures, always wanted to achieve the crazy and advanced-looking poses; and gradually later on, I was being more aware of the importance of state of mind and peacefulness, because yoga is about unity of mind and body. I became certified as a RYT-200 Yoga Instructor in 2016. Yoga stresses on both physical and mental wellness: It is a balance of yin and yang - strength and flexibility; as well as focus of breaths and control of mind. I have tapped into the world of yoga, and I have been lucky to learn from wise and inspiring individuals. Having the chance to share those lessons and experiences with people around fills me with joy. Everyone could use more yoga in their lives, so I hope to see you on the mat soon. Namaste.
