I have been offering piano and music theory lessons at your home or at my home (grand piano) for 5 years now with particularly diverse profiles! I am motorized. The half-hour lessons will be held at my home. I do not adopt a particular method but I rely on the needs and shortcomings specific to each person in order to weave together a path of musical and instrumental progress! I graduated with a degree in musicology and piano performance in Paris. I'm a portuguese violinist and I'm doing my Master at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels. In Portugal I started also a Master in Education and I have a lot of experience teaching because I used to do it in Portugal. I had students from 3 to 25 years old, so I'm prepared for any level! This class is for beginners who love the violin and want to learn more about it and how to play it, or for advanced students that need some help to develop their technique. Don't worry if you don't know anything about music, I can also teach the theory in a very easy way.

With all of the information available in books, magazines and online it is very hard to sort through everything and know what is the best place to start. With nobody around to walk you through the process, you spend a lot of time going in circles, making no progress at all. That definitely doesn’t make learning to play guitar very fun. If the interest and the profile of the student goes in the direction of the purely classical music performance, the lessons will be focused on a deep and conscious piano technique development, practicing techniques, musical interpretation, history of music, history of the piano, applied harmony on the keyboard, analysis, and score reading by a method that I have developed for over 15 years of experience. And if the students wish, I can help them to prepare for the ABRSM exams and competitions as well. All this is aiming to achieve in a very practical and exciting experience the best results in the fastest way possible. But if the profile and the interests of the students goes on another way, I will give them all the tools they need to understand the language of music in depth, so they can find their own voice on the instrument. In that case the lessons will include contents of piano technique, score reading, applied harmony on the keyboard, composition, improvisation, musical arrangement, music production, recording techniques, jazz and pop music analysis and performance. Both programs can be combined depending on the focus and the profile of the student, or in case the student would like to go deeper in one of the previously mentioned subjects there is the opportunity to take an independent course of specialization on the desired topic. At the end of the semester every student will perform at the winter and summer concerts held every year and will have the possibility of making a recording session with the material worked during the term. With this, the student will not only be able to see his progress and work, but also will give him a direct experience of performing and working on a live or studio recording session, which is a fundamental part of the developing process of every musician. My experience runs mostly in early and classical music with an active performing life, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals. As a docent or vocal coach I've collaborate with different academic institutions and private artistic projects, focusing mostly on international students or social integration programs. I have years of experience teaching children, teenagers and adults in both Latin-America and Europe, therefore understanding different appreciation levels and needs. The theory of everything tends to be really scary and music theory can be too. I am very keen to make music theory easy for everyone. For some people there is only one way to tackle the unmentionable but I believe there are many different approaches and one of them will click with you. It is simply finding out what is best for each person. Once we find the key we can unlock the problems that have puzzled you for ages. Music theory needs to be more than a requirement, it needs to be the way to really appreciate the music you are playing. Certain aspects can also lead to additional practical skills such as improvisation which can be very useful as well as very enjoyable.
