I am a cellist, composer and pianist from Chicago currently residing in Graz, Austria! I received my Bachelors in Cello and Composition in the USA from Indiana University and am currently pursuing my masters in Cello Konzertfach at Kunst Universität Graz. I have years of experience working as a private cello, piano and composition teacher. I am used teaching all levels, and have certification to teach string students as young as six years old from Indiana University's String Academy Program. In addition to teaching instrumental and composition lessons privately, I also have experience teaching music theory and aural skills as a graduate teaching assistant. I adjust my teaching based on what you or your child would like to learn. From helping you learn to play a Bach cello suite, to Bohemian Rhapsody on piano, or get feedback and mentorship on your own compositions, I would be happy to play a part in your musical journey! :)

I also teach sightreading (how to read a score!), how to play with singers or other musicians and solfeggio. I have been giving private music lessons and fortepiano for a long time. In addition to my classical music education in 2000, I obtained my bachelor's degree in psychopedagogy in 2006. This year I am interested in expanding my practice to include more students with special needs. I learned about the different ways music can help students with special needs. It helps them express their emotions and develop their memories and self-regulatory skills. It can show them strengths that they might not otherwise find during their school day. It can also open their eyes to a whole world of expression and beauty, enriching their lives. I find out what works for a particular student, what distracts them, what motivates them, what helps them focus and sometimes just learn how to relate to them.
