A-Level Sociology (OCR predominantly, but can teach other exam boards)

A-Level Sociology is one of the hardest subjects to tackle at A-Level if you are not familiar with memorising an entire compilation of names and theories. I specialise in teaching Sociology and achieved an A* at A-Level with OCR Sociology. In spite of this, I can teach and adapt to other exam boards like AQA, and there is a demand for Sociology tutoring. I currently study at King's College London University, but am free during weekends to tutor.

Thank you for reading.

English, Literature, Writing, Politics, International Relations, Sociology, Cambridge Admissions Tutor
I am a first class graduate in Politics and International Relations (HSPS) from the University of Cambridge (Graduated in 2023). I currently work as a writer. I can tutor early years, and have experience working with children of all ages, as a former paediatric nurse. I have read a lot of classic literature and would love to tutor students in literature, grammar, English or writing. I have advanced skills in fiction and academic writing. At a higher level I also can help with writing, politics, international relations, sociology and anthropology. I also provide Oxbridge admissions tutoring in these subjects, especially for those making contextual applications. I can also help students learn to optimise their skills in reading, comprehending, and memorising material from academic tests, and how to use ChatGPT and other tools to make this process more efficient.

Unique lessons / Russian language + political insights
Hi! If you have genuine interest in Russian language + want to get some insights into Russian politics and find out what’s going on there behind the iron curtain, I am happy to be your guide. We will improve both your Russian language and political awareness by reading some local newspapers and (most importantly!) listen to secret YouTube conversations between Russians and Ukrainians that are never (honestly, never..) are being translated into English. Looking forward!

Foundations of Sociology, Foundations of Criminology, Theories and Thinkers of Sociology and Criminology
Foundations of Sociology Dive into the essentials of sociology and explore how society shapes our lives. In this course, we’ll uncover key sociological concepts like culture, socialization, social structures, and group dynamics. Through case studies, real-world examples, and interactive discussions, students will learn to critically examine social issues, understand patterns of inequality, and develop insights into human behavior within different social contexts. Ideal for beginners or those looking to strengthen their understanding of the social world, this class sets a solid foundation for further study in the social sciences. Foundations of Criminology This course introduces the fundamental concepts of criminology, focusing on the study of crime, criminal behavior, and the criminal justice system. Students will explore various types of crime, factors influencing criminal behavior, and how society responds to crime. Topics include crime statistics, victimology, criminal law, and policy implications. Using real-life case studies and analytical tools, students will gain an understanding of criminological perspectives and their application in addressing current criminal justice issues. Theories and Thinkers of Sociology and Criminology Explore the ideas that have shaped sociology and criminology with a focus on influential thinkers and groundbreaking theories. This class covers major sociological and criminological theories, from classical frameworks to contemporary perspectives. Students will examine the works of key thinkers like Durkheim, Weber, Marx, Foucault, and others, understanding how their ideas contribute to our knowledge of society and criminal behavior. By analyzing these foundational theories, students will develop critical thinking skills and a deep understanding of how social forces and structures impact individual and group actions in society.

Private lessons in History-Geo, SES and English
I have always loved exchanging and passing on what I have learned. My mother being a German teacher, I have always been immersed in the world of education. I started tutoring when I was in high school, and I still do today. My journey : - Mention Very Good at the ES baccalaureate - Studied Sociology and Political Science at the University of Geneva - History and Spanish studies at the London School of Economics (LSE), First Class Honours. I help academically and psychologically students in History-Geography, SES and English. I explain the course in detail (if necessary), and we work on the methodology for each event, the organization and the planning of the work to be done. I can also follow your child in other subjects for the smallest classes. For example, I worked with two students in great difficulty (general average around 7-8 out of 20), and the latter obtained their baccalaureate, one of them with honors. I also worked with another student the previous year, who obtained the mention Very Good (with 19/20 in SES).

The study of Terrorism will also be introduced and incorporated with the Criminology teachings. You’ll learn what underpins the study of Criminology in a simplified and engaging way. Coming from a background of sociological research, I have both qualitative and quantitative methodological study methods that inform my tutoring strategies and increase student's general comprehension of key concepts. Beginning with teaching core principles from assigned textbooks and syllabi (of which I independently review and use to create individual and tailored lesson plans), I also provide students with critical thinking skills, grammar lessons, and essay writing tips to ensure that they reach their academic and intellectual potential. I am presently a master's student at LSE and have six years of tutoring and teaching experience in related disciplines, as well as experience working with students with varied learning and cognitive demands.

Abbasali
Economics and Politics tutor, Personal Statement help, Structured study plans help
I like to structure my teaching lessons differently from most. I cater directly to the student and I realize that everyone is different. Some children will be seriously struggling with their subjects and will need me to focus on the basics and build up a foundation, whereas others will already be working at a good level and just need an extra push to get them to their goal. Whether a student is shy, unorganized, confident or even overconfident, my teaching style will be catered to them.

online course Succeed in economics and social sciences high school.
Associate professor of economic and social sciences, I suggest you help your child to progress and succeed in high school. I use remote work tools during the confinement period. I have been teaching high school students from second to final for 15 years. My baccalaureate experience (jury presidency, development of subjects, evaluation of subjects, etc.) allows me to help your child understand the expectations of the SES baccalaureate test. In addition to my career in secondary and higher education in France, I studied cognitive sciences. These allowed me to acquire tools to help students understand and assimilate their lessons; such as speed reading, mind mapping or even sophrology. I offer 2-hour sessions during which we work on your child's course or from my own materials. After a presentation and a brief study of the learner's profile, we work on knowledge to be mastered that we then put into practice on subjects of baccalaureate records. I prepare students for the SES E3C or final exam (compulsory education and specialties: social and political sciences or in-depth economics). see you soon Monia

Political Science, History and International Studies Classes
History and Political Science are intertwined subjects with multidisciplinary approaches. To study one of these, one must understand the other. I offer classes that teach either of the two subjects, as well as both (if required) with aspect to the other. How often have we wondered about historical events with respect to Politics? Do we know that the Romanovs were related to the British Royal Family and how their brutal killings was shaped by geopolitics of the era, or how Hitler's death was a highly controversial political debate? You see how history and politics cannot be separated. It is also undeniable that having knowledge of the two subjects can help you achieve higher marks and credits, as well as a deeper understanding and passion for the subjects.
