For this, the sessions can for example take place according to your needs as follows: a) Comments / proposals on the text that you will offer me b) Writing exercises based on a statement. c) A series of precise and pragmatic recommendations and their application through style exercises. Whether it is a novel, an essay, song lyrics, various texts, a biography or simply a report for professional or school purposes, it is about offering you elements personalized pedagogy: - Study your text - Build text, song lyrics etc - Calmly polish the style - Research and develop your lexical fields - Differentiate between writing for oneself and writing for others All this by combining theory and practice: Writing work from exercises then as part of a personal project. During the sessions, you are guided in your writing project. The trainer accompanies you and teaches you the preparation method, gives you writing tools and helps you work on your style and your imagination. The objective is multiple, including a reflection on one's own literary path, an introduction to the basic tools of style work and exercises on description. I am a former police detective who once worked with victims and witnesses of crime. In 1999 I was awarded the Maryland Governor’s Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Contributions in the Field of Victim/Witness Services. Fond of true crime, I enjoy advocating through storytelling by giving voice to the dead, ignored, and oppressed. My purpose in writing has always been to champion social impact narratives, provoke thought, and effect change for representatives of the BIPOC (Black Indigenous People of Color) community(ies). As a U.S.National Finalist in the Coverfly Screencraft Virtual Pitch Spring 2022 and again in Fall 2023, I am now in the nascent statges of completing my first manuscript for a creative non-fiction book due to be self-published Winter 2024. In this engaging class, students will explore classic and modern literature whilst developing their own storytelling skills. Through interactive discussions, fun writing exercises, and personalized feedback, students will learn to analyze texts, enhance their vocabulary, and express their creativity. They'll dive into imaginative worlds, build compelling characters, and craft original stories, all while improving their reading comprehension and writing techniques. Students will be expected to complete a homework task weekly. The pieces will be marked and given feedback, alongside a discussion about the piece itself. This class intends to improve the students understanding and knowledge of English Literature and Creative Writing, through fostering a love of the texts given, and empowering young writers to confidently share their voices.

I can aid students from preschool to IGCSE/GCSE level in English, Verbal Reasoning, and essay writing. Having achieved an A* in both English Language and English literature, I am passionate about teaching children how to love the subject and excel in their examinations. I have tutored English in the past to both preschool and IGCSE pupils, offering a dynamic and interactive teaching style that helps nurture a child's love for English and creative writing. I have access to the poetry pamphlet taught in most schools for IGCSE, but can access whatever syllabus is needed for a specific exam. I also have created several worksheets for students who are learning English as their second language. Having studied French, German, and Latin at school, I am aware of the etymology of many words which will allow students to connect meanings across their language to understand the literature fully. In my free time, I write poetry and novels and can share many teachings I learnt on a creative writing course I undertook in 2016.

In this class, we'll work on shaping new drafts whilst learning about international poetic forms as well as producing some free verse work. We'll edit our material and, if we have multiple sessions, we'll put together a brief collection! We will explore the world of the senses, memories, and connect to language in a new, profound way. My course is not prescriptive, and we'll meet your voice wherever you're at right now. You'll be taught by a published poet with work experience in the UK and North America. I've taught Creative Writing to university students at a world-leading school, and worked with younger audiences, and I'm happy to work with a variety of forms in English. I studied for my MFA in Creative Writing at the University of British Columbia, and won a scholarship as the strongest poet in my cohort.

I specialise and have years of experience, skills and training in SEN as well as many other subjects. Therefore, I'm qualified in supporting and providing primary age children who have learning difficulties and need full support in any subject from Key Stages 1-2. Updates on your child's progress and homework will also be provided regularly. This includes full support given to mainstream children who do not have learning difficulties but need some tuition in English, Maths or Science etc. Exam support for those preparing for their SATS in Key Stages 1 - 2 will also be given. All children will be provided with homework on a weekly basis. I like to give parents of young children regular updates on how their child is progressing. For older children or adults, I can provide support with coursework, essay writing and exam support, just ask! My teenage daughter had tuition from myself whilst studying for her GCSE's this year. She managed to pass all of her subjects, and got a distinction in English, amongst other subjects!
