I'm a native English speaker from Canada, currently living in Prague, with many years of ESL and university teaching experience. I can help you gain confidence and improve skills through stimulating, content-based lessons with varieties of topics, activities and materials, designed and adapted to your level, interests, and requirements, and what you and I together feel we want and need to work on flexibly week by week. I work with intermediate to advanced students (B1-C2), with most of my students interested in conversation/communication English (focusing on speaking and listening skills, and including improving vocabulary, fluency, pronunciation, and grammar), but I’m also happy to work with students on writing and reading. My teaching style is engaging, creative and friendly—I try to make every lesson an interesting and enjoyable one. But I’m also professional, prepared, organized, and reliable. I rarely use a textbook—some students enjoy primarily having conversation without other resources needed, but I also often use songs, videos, and texts of various kinds to provide a wide variety of topics, new vocabulary, varieties of listening practice, etc., and I also use varieties of ESL material from various internet sources as well.

I offer courses based on a systematic, complete and progressive methodology and focused on the practical usage of the French language with the aim of developing skills in the fields of communication, language and culture. My courses follow a specific and detailed plan composed of different thematic units. Each unit contains listening and reading comprehension, grammar and vocabulary exercises and a brief introduction to French civilization and culture.

Native French and mastering English at level C1, I am able to give you lessons adapted to your way of working. In a fun way or in a more academic way, I can teach you the basics of these languages so that you may end up speaking fluently.

I have worked English teacher for 5 years now. I have worked as an English ESL teacher in International Schools in Beijing. I have taught English to numerous students across multiple cultural backgrounds. I have adopted an Enquiry-based Learning in order to create interesting and useful but nonetheless appropriate discussions. With over 12 years of experience in chemistry, I am currently a final year Ph.D. student at Charles University in Prague and doing research at Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry at Czech Academy of Sciences. As a part of this course, I take responsibility to make sure that the most elemental form of chemistry is understood by the student in the easiest way using examples from daily life. Chemistry is all around us. We as part of nature are made of chemicals in one form or other. Therefore, none of us can live without a knowledge in Chemistry. Since everything happening around us in the universe is because of one or the other form of a chemical reaction (slow or fast), the reason behind them are to be truly revealed before understanding what is happening e.g. in our kitchen while cooking food or while drinking cola or juice.

Hi! My lessons are engaging, and I make the less enjoyable aspects of learning a language (e.g. grammar) enjoyable/fun. I always cater to a student's needs – thoroughly discussing the areas they need to improve on and the most effective way to do this. I believe it is very important for students to have the opportunity to speak. I have a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education from the UK in addition to a Trinity TESOL (CELTA-equivalent TEFL certificate). I have experience in teaching both individuals and groups, from beginner to advanced; and in teaching conversational English, English for international exams, general English, and more.

I believe effective language learning can only happen when students feel relaxed, and when they are interested in the material. It is very important that students speak as much as possible during the lesson, and are not afraid to make mistakes! Making mistakes is normal when learning a language. Therefore, I try to make lessons fun and engaging. To do this, I conduct a needs analysis of each student during the first session; this allows me to discover exactly what each new student’s needs are, which areas they need to improve, and what topics they are interested in. Some students are afraid of grammar, but I try to present it in a fun way – so that you don’t actually realise you’re studying grammar until it’s too late!

I have been teaching since high school and I had 19.59 in the baccalaureate so I could help you in multiple subjects. I am coming to Prague in September as part of an exchange within my engineering school. I can also give language lessons in French and English.
