Ciao! My name is Sam and I am a foreign language graduate from the UK and have lived 3 years in Italy. I recently moved to Vienna from Italy and for the last 3 years I have been teaching and tutoring English. As a language learner myself I understand well the difficulties of learning a new language and how to best overcome the challenges that foreign languages brings. I have found that the best lessons are always tailored to the student's needs as languages are composed of many skills & wide vocabularies that certain students need more than others. I am a very open and relaxed person and I find this helps take the pressure and stress off students speaking in their foreign language. I have a C1 Italian level that I achieved through University and living in Italy, therefore, I would also be available to teach beginners and intermediate Italian learners helping with pronunciation, grammar and colloquial sayings. I am open to doing lessons via webcam but I'd say in person lessons work better, such as being in a local café for example.

My classes are highly tailored to your individual learning needs. Whether you're a beginner looking to take your first steps with English or an advanced learner looking to improve your fluency, these classes are for you! In our first session, we will establish your learning goals and how I can support you to reach them. I will then prepare a curriculum incorporating this and any coursework you may have from school or university. I have experience teaching conversational English in Cambodia and private tutoring in Australia. I have particular expertise in written communication, and have experience writing in professional, government and academic contexts. For beginners, please note that I have only basic German and my preference is to teach entirely in English as I find it is more effective for building students' competencies.
