Education

Englsih:

I hold a Bachelor's degree from Barratt-Due Institute of Music and an Artist Diploma from Curtis Institute of Music. These qualifications have provided me with a solid academic background and deep insights into the world of music. During my time at Barratt-Due, I gained a thorough foundation in music theory, performance techniques, and critical listening skills, while the Artist Diploma program at Curtis has equipped me with specialized knowledge in pedagogy and advanced musical subjects. Together, these degrees form a strong foundation for my career as a musician and music educator, inspiring me to share my passion for music with others in a meaningful and engaging way.

Norsk:

Experience / Qualifications

English:

I'm Albert, and I've been deeply involved in music education and performance for several years now. I completed my Bachelor's degree at the Barratt-Due Institute of Music in 2017 and furthered my studies with a focus on pedagogy at the Curtis Institute of Music, earning my Artist Diploma in 2020.

I've had the privilege of working alongside talented musicians in esteemed orchestras like the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra since 2015, as well as more recent experiences with the Norwegian Opera Orchestra and the Norwegian Radio Orchestra.

My journey has also taken me to various music festivals, where I've had the pleasure of both teaching and performing. These experiences have enriched my understanding of music and teaching in diverse settings.

Teaching has always been a fulfilling aspect of my musical path. I've been part of Valdres Sommersymfoni and Ringerike Sommersymfoni for several years, and I've recently started teaching at Musikk på Majorstuen music school with a future role at Nittedal Cultural School in 2024.

I'm passionate about sharing my love for music and helping students explore their musical potential. It's an ongoing journey of learning and growth that I'm excited to continue.

Double Bass, Electric Bass, and Band Coach lessons. All ages and levels!
Hello! My name is Bjørk and I’m a professional double bass player living and teaching here in Amsterdam. I have 2 diplomas in Jazz Bass from Sweden and a degree in Jazz Bass Performance from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I love teaching and I have taught since 2016. And I love the bass! I teach double bass, electric bass, composition, improvisation and music theory. I have experience teaching complete beginners with zero prior musical knowledge to more advanced players. I also have taught students online. I believe that every student is different and I always customize and adapt my lessons to your needs and your goals. And don’t worry if you’re not sure what those are yet, we can figure it out together! As I see it, music and learning should be most of all: fun! Of course it’s at times challenging, but we will focus on what you feel passionate about and see what works best for you. Even though I specialize in jazz, I have played many genres and we can do anything you want. Pop, rock, punk, indie, world-music/folk funk, or anything else that you are interested in. I also teach band coaching if you have a band that you want to play with.

Robin
Jazz Double Bass / Improvised Music and Electric Bass lessons
The Contrabass is a marvelous instrument: powerful, subtle, demanding, astonishing. Graduated from the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris in Jazz specialty and teacher (private individual / replacement in conservatory) for 4 years, I suggest you dive into the heart of his universe. For this I appreciate relying on a flexible method putting the passion and envy of my students at the forefront. Meet, establish a dialogue and move forward together towards a common goal: to have fun while making progress! My horizons: -The jazz double bass (walking bass, improvisation, sounds, repertoire, rhythm, theory ..) - the "general" technique (body position, right hand, left hand, flexibility, etc.) -the classical double bass (sound of the bow, phrasing, study of pieces ...) - "contrabassistic" culture (operation of the instrument, the undisputed masters, the repertoire in the broad sense ...) I am also an electric bass player (another wonderful instrument) graduated from the Marne and Chantereine conservatories. My method remains the same and I love to teach (and constantly learn) the greatest number of styles, repertoire, ranging from Rock to Funk through Pop, hip hop and Cuban music. All levels and all ages welcome! Classes can be taught in French, English or Italian. Robin.

Double bass lessons for all ages, levels and interests
Hello! I am Jennifer, double bassist based in Brussels. I enjoy teaching anyone who wants to play the double bass: whether you are just starting out or want to further develop on this magnificent instrument. Making music is central to my lessons and other aspects are also discussed from there: ensemble playing, technique (pizzicato and/or arco), ear training, theory. Because the double bass is a versatile instrument in so many musical styles, we can also approach this one. I like to share my great passion for all kinds of music. Curious? Be sure to send me a message and we will make a plan based on your wishes, agenda and interests! Being able to read music is certainly not a must, we can also tackle this during lessons.
