Kizomba / semba class with a Latin and African dance enthusiast

Translated by Google. Click to view original.
Having learned with the best, I also travel a lot in order to better train myself. In kizomba, no diploma hesitates to date or even competitions.
This dance comes to us from Angola, a country rich in culture and that is mainly what should be remembered from this dance.

I will try to convey as much as possible to you so that you can best discover this magnificent dance.

Belgian, but loving travel, I've been dancing salsa and bachata for 4 years, but the dance that is close to my heart is kizomba, coming from Africa and Angola, that's where I'm a perfectionist

    Ciar
Contemporary Dance Class and Tutoring - Intermediate / Advanced
Ciar is a recent graduate of Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance; a versatile queer dance artist freelancing in London with a background in Hip-Hop, Circus Arts, Classical Ballet and Contemporary dance. I hope to offer everyone an exciting and enjoyable time whilst pushing thier physical capabilities. Dance should be fun! My class explores a choreographic style of contemporary dance with clear influences from Cunningham technique and my recent expirience working with Jason Mabana. The work will challenge your coordination, rhythm, attention to detail and demostrate a contemporary application of classical teachnical forms, but all through explorative and original material. The class is structured like any other technical class, each exercise desinged to methodicaly warm up and work the body, building on the previous exercises, before culminating in a longer choreography where we can pull everything together and just have a boogie. I can tailor the work to each student however I would reccomend having some technical expirience, classical or contemporary.

    Salsa lessons + new encounters
Hello everyone!!! :-) Friday salsa lessons will finally resume !!! :-) This event is for anyone who wants to learn LA salsa as quickly and efficiently as possible. We are learning to learn salsa in an evolutionary way. In other words, we will begin with footsteps and basic figures that will fit into more and more complex figures. A fairly regular participation is therefore recommended even if the steps will be briefly recalled later. We insist that you must practice what has been seen, otherwise you will forget, thus making your evolution difficult. That's why we invite you to stay for the dance party from 11pm to rehearse directly with your new friends. PROGRAM: 20h-21h: Beginners 0 (those who have never danced) 21h-22h: Beginners 1 and Intermediaries (those who already have the basics) 22h-23h: Advanced (those who already have some control) 23h: Salsa evening to practice directly with your classmates and other dancers. How will 1h of classes be held? Beginners 0, 1 and Intermediaries: - no basic and solo movements: 15 minutes for Beginners 1 and Intermediates; 25mn for beginners 0 - learning and control of rhythm: 5mn - reminder of the previous figure (and / or questions): 10 mn (only for beginners 1 and Intermediaries) - figure of the day and practice on music: 30 mn Advances: - warm-up, solos, shines: 20 mn - reminder of the previous figure + questions: 10 mn - figure of the day + practice on music: 30mn In order to offer optimal quality and follow you individually, we limit participants to 20 per class.

Dance & Therapy session | Transcendental Embodiment
Are you seeking for a creative and uplifting way to consciously reconnect with yourself ? Transcendental Embodiment is a dance practice that will guide you to embrace your emotions and help you to reach your true authentic self. Through meditative dances, guided imageries, and energy healing modalities. I am here to support and guide you in your process of discovering your inner power through: - chakras alignment, guided meditation, breathing exercises - self-expression & subjective experience through dance - expanding your heart space, emotional awareness, and healing in movement and dance - release of stress, judgment, and trapped emotions - grounding, self-care, resilience - and more... The sessions are tailored to the specific needs and capabilities of each individual. *Dance can be a practice of introspection, transformation, and transcendence of one’s subjective experiences into a worldwide journey. * As a professional dancer, teacher, and performance maker I am introspectively processing each working day in consciousness, listening to my upcoming emotions, triggers, or anxiety when it comes to be physically and mentally performative in a team, or as a freelance artist. Instead of suppressing these emotions and creating energetical and mental blockages (that can end up into somatic pains or burn-out): we should pay more attention to these inner warning messages and strengthen our emotional intelligence to be able to cope with the infinitesimal external stimulus and daily-stress of our very fast lives. It can be challenging to sense with clarity what is the origin of some feelings of frustration, unsatisfaction, discomfort, or grief, and it can be intimidating or discouraging to walk alone on that path. This class helps you to commit to your better-being, presence to oneself countering wellness procrastination. * What do you need to feel lighter, brighter, or happier in your everyday life? * * What is your self-achievement potentiality? * - For who? : For anyone who enjoys movement and dance, and desires a better connection and understanding with their moving bodies. / One-to-one or group sessions. - Where? : Online via SKYPE or at the student's location. Values: Integrity, Transparency, Respect, Cooperation * About TE : Transcendental Embodiment (TE) is the result of three years of research and development. Merging from a movement philosophy research entitled Behind & Beyond, to its phenomenological understanding. The metaphysical unity of the tangible and intangible bodies expounds on the undeniable relationships between those in the physical realm. The tangible body (the material vehicle), the intangibles bodies (psychological, emotional, energetical, and spiritual). As a dance healing practice, guiding the practitioner to conscious corporeality, and subjective emotional understanding, this methodology can also be a useful tool to improve artistry and technical skills on a deeper level, widening mindful creativity, awareness, empathy, and sensitivity. (TE) movement and dance methodology combines a meditative approach in stillness and through movement, awakening the mind, spreading the awareness into different body parts; putting a specific emphasis on improvisation skills, and musicality, following energy impulses and intuitive movement and increasing the flow of energy. Inviting the practitioners to practice resilience, non-self definition, non-judgment, self-care and self-love, integrity, and acceptance to overcome technical, physical, and mental limits holding the practitioner from his self-achievement potentiality. This approach builds itself crescendo on subjective movement reflexivity and introspective journey through the following process: * The four steps: Being | Investigation | Exploration | Dedication Unconscious - Subconscious - Conscious - Transcendental Consciousness Feel free to contact me for any inquiries.
