My name is Valentin and I have a master's degree in Physics from ENS Lyon. In 2017 I became the youngest medalist at the International Physics Olympiad. Currently I am doing my doctoral studies in Basel. My scientific approach favors above all the in-depth understanding of concepts rather than the simple learning of the laws of physics by heart. I have experience solving very complex problems in physics and mathematics, where just knowing the formulas is not enough. It is by grasping the deeper meaning of these formulas that we can effectively apply them in a broader context and thus facilitate the search for solutions. Then I explain difficult concepts in detail and show how I would approach different problems through concrete examples. I offer courses for students of all levels, up to the third year of university in physics and the second year in mathematics. I have several years of teaching experience and my students have been able to do well in their exams. I can give my classes in the evening in Basel, or in neighboring cities as long as they are accessible by train and less than an hour by train, such as Bern or Zurich.
