Violin private lessons from beginners to professional (adult beginners included)

Hello! I am Lara and I am currently pursuing my Master of Pedagogy in violin at the music academy of Basel. I offer violin lessons for all ages and levels, everyone is welcome! I have teaching experience with all age groups from six years upwards. I would be happy to discover the diverse world of the violin with you! Lessons can be in German and English.

Graduated from Yale university and Hanns Eisler Hochschule für Musik, I have studied with some of the best musicians and pedagogues of today including Julia Bushkova, Susan Dubois, Ettora Causa and Tabea Zimmerman! I'm a passionate teacher, in love with orchestra, chamber as well as solo repertoire. Currently serving as an assistant Solo viola of Sinfonieorchester Basel.

With over a decade of experience teaching students of all ages and skill levels, I’ve developed a unique method that combines the essential skill of reading sheet music with learning to play basic tunes by ear. My approach is enhanced by a carefully curated selection of the most effective and engaging musical repertoire from around the world, offering students both a solid foundation and an enjoyable learning experience. Hi I'm Daniel and I've been teaching the violin with passion and dedication since 2010. I've probably taught over a hundred students of all ages, levels and walks of life, from very beginners and children to aspiring professionals and mature enthusiasts — I really enjoy working and interacting with everybody. I've been playing violin since I was six, and was lucky to have amazing teachers and exceptional musicians from Russia, Israel, Poland, and USA, who tutored and mentored me over the years, contributing to my knowledge of almost every possible technique, style, and method of playing of this complex and challenging instrument. I'm also a professional viola player and I could teach it happily as well. My diverse interest, passion, and experience in the musical world has led me to collaborate and perform with some renowned international artists in the classical, pop, folk, klezmer, jazz, and rock genres — some of these names would include Zubin Mehta, Mischa Maisky, Andres Mustonen, Lord of the Dance, Ariel Zilber, Giora Feidman, Omri Mor, Yonatan Razel.

I offer violin lessons, music theory and solfège tutoring for all ages and levels. I have 2 years experience in teaching both children and adults. I tailor my lessons to my pupils' goals and needs so they find joy in the process of learning. I am here to help you achieve your goals in the wonderful world of music!

*Development of competencies* Violin/viola students will learn a wide range of musical repertoire from popular children's songs to classical works. In the classes they will learn how to hold the instrument, the care of the viola/violin, and what is involved in playing it, where they will be given the technical musical tools to develop their maximum potential in order to play the violin with a pleasant, grandiloquent sound and enjoy each note through the stroke of the bow on the strings.

With a background of over 17 years of playing the violin and pedagogical experience in teaching youth, I bring the knowledge gathered from the world scene in a systematized way to the students I work with. As part of my program, you will get to know and explore: - Fundamentals: reading violin music, proper posture, intonation, scales, solfeggio, techniques and other exercises. - Violin Technique: correct posture, holding of the violin and the bow, finger and bow techniques through various exercises. - Pitch and Rhythm: recognize and notate pitches on all strings, experience diverse rhythms and meters. - Musical Vocabulary: basic musical terms and symbols. - Making music: learning to express your musicality through understanding form, dynamics, tempo and phrasing. - Repertoire: literature of various composers, understanding their style and of the epoch of theirs. I am a Liszt academy Master's graduate, specializing in violin performance, teaching for 6+ years, and enjoy sharing knowledge and experience with anyone interested in this beautiful instrument. In these classes, you will learn the practical and theoretical parts of playing the violin from level 0, as well as how to develop your skills with the highest musical, technical, and interpretation levels. Hello everyone! My musical journey began when I was just four years old, starting with the piano. Later, at the age of seven, I eagerly embraced the violin, adding its enchanting melodies to my repertoire. I achieved a professional mid-grade in both piano and violin. Fueled by my love for music, I moved to Rotterdam, Netherlands, to pursue a Bachelor's degree at Codarts University of Arts. Under the guidance of teachers like Natasha Morozova and Hed Yaron Meyerson, I refined my skills and nurtured my artistic vision. After completing my Bachelor's studies, I continued my musical exploration in Codarts' Master's program. Alongside my classical training, I've always been intrigued by the therapeutic potential of music. In 2023, I earned certification in Music Therapy, expanding my horizons and deepening my connection to the healing power of music. In collaboration with my colleagues, I am member of the Olga Trio. Our mission is to highlight the works of women composers throughout history. Our debut performance at the IV Concurso Nacional de Interpretación de Obras de Mujeres Compositoras was a proud moment, affirming our commitment to amplifying diverse voices in music. Beyond classical music, I've always been drawn to exploring different genres and styles. As a member of the Jong Metropole Orchestra in 2023, I relished the opportunity to collaborate with musicians from diverse backgrounds, pushing the boundaries of traditional musical conventions. In every note I play and every project I undertake, my passion for music shines through. It's a journey of exploration, growth, and discovery, and I'm excited to continue sharing my love for music with the world. I've been teaching during the last 8 years. I am flexible with the students needs and I embrace fun and creativity in my lessons.

Violin lessons for beginners I can teach you the violin from scratch to professionalism, and this will include teaching musical notation, writing and reading. We can start by learning the principles of music and then gradually move to training on the violin. There will be a special book for teaching.

I am a violin teacher currently studying with a distinguished violin teacher in Vienna, who has won prestigious prizes at Oleh Krysa International Violin Competition, the Michael Hill International Violin Competition, etc.... If you study with me, there may be an opportunity for you to work with my teacher, depending on your current violin level. For beginners, I teach using the Suzuki method and the Zhang Shi Xiang Progressive Violin Repertoire, focusing primarily on developing solid foundational techniques rather than solely building repertoire. I believe a strong technical foundation is essential for both professional musicians and amateurs. My teaching approach is informed by years of conscious practice, exploration of ''good'' playing, and stage performance experience. If you have specific requests or preferences regarding your lessons, I am happy to discuss and adapt to your needs. I have played the violin for many years and experience in both performing and teaching. My goal is to share the joy of music and inspire your passion for the violin.

In this violin course you will learn a foundation in learning one of the most rewarding instruments in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Grip the bow, hold the violin, have the perfect hand position and enjoy playing the strings while learning how to read the notes, the violin rhythm and technique. Students will generally learn better if they feel a connection developing with their teacher, whether that’s through humour, showing care about their development, or making sure teacher devote time equally to all students when in a group. My goal is to make people of all ages and levels learn not only playing an instrument but how can music help them in their everyday life. I am an Albanian violinist, with a Bachelor degree in Classical Music (Violin) and Musicologie in Sorbonne University. Over the years, my experiences with different youth and professional orchestras all around Europe have made me understand that music is important not only for professional musicians but also for everyone. I can teach in English or French and of course in my mother tongue Albanian.

I am a professional violinist. I graduated with distinction at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (Master) and hold a Bachelor Diploma from Codarts (Rotterdam). I also pursued a masters degree in Music Education at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. I teach students of all ages and levels. I have thirteen years of teaching experience in the Netherlands and in Belgium ( privately and at music schools: Hart Muziekschool in Haarlem and Vioolstudio 020! in Amsterdam). In my lessons I help the students to find a good contact with the instrument and cultivate a positive relationship with music by integrating the development of aural skills, sense of rhythm and an optimal body use, enabling them to connect with their musical imagination. The lessons are adapted to each student's needs and wishes.
