About Me

I am a qualified Special Educational Needs Coordinator, with a PGCE in Science and over 10 years of experience tutoring and teaching individuals between the ages of 4 and 21. When I was completing my undergraduate degree in Psychology at UCL, I started tutoring and became sold on teaching: supporting people to develop skills and acquire knowledge; igniting interest and open doors to opportunities are just some of the factors driving my love of teaching.

Creating equity through inclusion is at the heart of my practice, working with individuals to improve and secure their foundational skills acting as a building block for them to overcome hurdles, grow their understanding and confidence as well as access opportunities opportunities throughout their lives. This technique has allowed pupils I work with to go from obtaining U's to achieving a grade 4/5 or stretching pupils who were achieving grades 4/5 to 7's, 8's and 9's.

Whilst outcomes are important relationships are key to this success to allow learning to be fun and engaging, which allows individuals to truly thrive. I love learning! And love igniting that passion in others; I am a firm believer that learning changes lives because learning is for life. The capacity to learn is the superpower we all share. Reframing perspectives and offering new narratives whether it is in relation to a poem, scientific theory or maths equation allows people to unlock their superpower and succeed.

Education

I completed my undergraduate degree at UCL and then went on to a PGCE at Canterbury Christ Church, before completing the National Award for SEN Co-ordination at Middlesex University

Experience / Qualifications

BSc Psychology
PGCE-Science
National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination

I have experience working with individuals who have a variety of needs, such as: autism spectrum condition, cerebral palsy, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, anxiety, moderate learning difficulties, hearing and visual impairments, to name a few
Literacy and Numeracy skills can be challenging for pupils to acquire, whether this is decoding/ spelling for pupils with Dyslexia; comprehending aspects of language for pupils with Autism or maths related anxiety for pupils suffering with poor academic self-esteem, these sessions will improve the necessary skills to build a strong foundation and supporting progress in academia and development of other skills needed on a daily basis. Learning should always be fun! Skills can be developed through honing in on interests and making learning relatable to real-life incorporating games and quizzes to not only improve literacy and numeracy but working, visual and auditory memory skills as well as supporting metacognitive skills (independence and organisation) Focussing on developing skills with high repetition and low stakes testing to increase ability and confidence. I am a qualified and practicing SENDCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) in a secondary provision responsible for designing and implementing successful interventions to improve these skills. I am a qualified teacher with a PGCE in Science and over 15 years of experience working with young people with special educational needs, with a genuine passion for teaching and supporting individuals learn and grow.
Supporting and enhancing curiosity, inquiry and understanding of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, for pupils aged between 11- 16. Whatever the age an ability, I have a proven track record of bringing pupils who were struggling to pass to progressing 4-5 grades finishing with a strong pass, to stretching pupils to achieve their full potential and obtain top grades. Whether you would like a head start on securing and solidifying Science skills or quickly enhancing knowledge and skills before a final exam approaches, this is the session to support it. Private online mathematics lessons - Qualified and experienced teacher
I am a qualified and experienced mathematics tutor. Graduated from the Free University of Brussels in 2011, I started my career by teaching remedial courses in different schools in Brussels. I then specialized in individual academic support by following educational training at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I have been giving private mathematics lessons daily for over ten years. The students who follow my private lessons benefit from personalized support. The first session is devoted to an in-depth assessment of the student's mathematical knowledge. The objective is to detect its weak points and understand their origin in order to adapt my courses to its needs. I develop a tailor-made remediation program for each of my students aimed at filling each of their gaps. Over the course of the sessions, the student builds a solid foundation for learning and regains self-confidence. At the same time, I help him acquire a work methodology that allows him to gradually become autonomous in his studies. I have a perfect knowledge of the mathematics program of the College and the High School (from the Sixth to the Terminale). During my formative years, I studied and developed many techniques that make it easier to learn math. The strength of my pedagogical approach lies in my ability to explain in a simple way everything that the student finds complicated. I am passionate about this job because it gives me the opportunity to guide dropout students on the path to success. It is a real pleasure to see them evolve and come to terms with the fantastic world of mathematics. I provide my private lessons in Limoges (at the student's home) or remotely (online via the internet). My distance learning courses take place on an interactive online whiteboard. This board is specially designed to promote student/teacher interaction on the internet. Thanks to this educational tool, my online courses are as effective as home courses. The student only needs an internet connection and a computer, tablet, or smartphone to take advantage of it.

Relaxed Chats in English with Ryan the Australian/South African - Improve Your Confidence in English
The purpose of our chats/classes is to increase your comfort and confidence with speaking English. Learning any language takes dedication and persistence, but I will help make it easier for you. The more you hear English spoken, and the more you try to speak it, the faster you will recognise the sounds, and the more confidence you will gain. It starts with feeling totally comfortable to try, and to make mistakes. And that's where I can help. ABOUT ME My family tree has its roots in England. I grew up in Mandela's beautiful South Africa. I later spent 9 years "Down Under" in Dronning Mary's magnificent Australia. Then marriage brought me to the lovely Kingdom of Denmark :-) I'm not a trained English teacher, however: - I scored 8.5 (Expert) on the IELTS test - I love to teach and explain - I'm super-patient and caring - My accent is easy to understand Let's have some relaxed and interesting chats to improve your English fluency and pronunciation :-) I'll be happy to share stories from living all around the world, and hearing about your life. LGBT friendly. MY APPROACH I know what it's like to learn a new language and I know just how scary it can be to open your mouth to try and speak it. I will provide a safe space, free of criticism or embarrassment, to help you overcome your fears of learning this VITAL world language. The English language can really be your passport to the world :-) The time it takes to learn English is different for different people, but the statistics show that the more you hear the language and the sooner you start speaking it - even if it's slow and difficult at first - the faster you will learn. My job is not to explain complex rules and grammar to you. You can learn those online or in a school. I'm here to get you speaking and listening, so that you train your ears and your mouth in English. And over time, bit by bit, I will also help you to speak more accurately. Luckily for you, because English is spoken so widely, native English speakers are quite used to hearing English spoken incorrectly. So there's really no need to stress too much about your little errors in grammar or pronunciation. Let's just get you speaking! :-)

Teaching chemistry to school and university students in a simplified manner
Hello students! Do you find it difficult to learn science subjects, especially chemistry? This may be because chemistry contains some difficult or complex concepts or terms. If you are one of these, do not worry!! Hello and welcome to you, my students, in the right place to solve this problem through simplifying science lessons, especially chemistry. Through these lessons, we will learn together how to deal with difficult-to-understand matters and terms, because I have extensive experience extending to more than 15 years in conveying complex concepts in a clear, easy and simple way. My goal is to make science and chemistry in general and organic chemistry in particular wonderful and understandable for everyone. As a dedicated teacher, I create an interactive and stimulating learning environment for my students using the latest methods. I am ready to share my passion and guide each student towards excellence and success in the field of science and organic chemistry and in studies in general, as I work as a student advisor in an international institution. In addition, I have excellent communication and presentation skills and am patient and calm when teaching. In addition, I constantly follow up on my students' progress and regularly evaluate their understanding through continuous solution of objective questions, as I care more about understanding than memorization. On the other hand, I also maintain good follow-up with parents. My teaching approach is directed towards achieving the highest results, with a focus on helping students understand and master information. For university students or master's and doctoral students, I teach the course of natural product chemistry or phytochemistry. In this course, we will learn about the methods of extracting, separating and identifying the chemical form of active chemical compounds (biologically active secondary compounds) from natural sources, such as medicinal and aromatic plants. We will also discuss what is known as chromatography, spectroscopy devices, spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and magnetic resonance analysis. In addition to knowing some important applications of these active materials in various fields, such as the pharmaceutical industry, agriculture, etc. We will also learn the practical methods that are carried out in the laboratory to conduct toxicity, antioxidant and diabetes analyses, etc. Finally, "for those interested in scientific research" there is a course dedicated to knowing what scientific research is, how to choose a research point, how to write scientific research and how to find the appropriate journal for publication and everything related to this topic. Experience: About 20 years of practical experience in the field of chemistry, medicinal and aromatic plants and pharmacy with parallel training and private lessons for chemistry curricula. With my qualifications and experiences, as I hold a master's degree and a doctorate in organic chemistry (chemistry of natural products), in addition to other postgraduate certificates and a doctoral scholarship in pharmaceutical sciences in Belgium from the Erasmus Mundus organization affiliated with the European Union.
