Saxophone Lessons with professional musician // all levels and styles

Like with languages, intuition plays a huge part in learning an instrument. Most often in music, the correct choice will the the one that ~feels~ the most natural. This is what my teachers, from when I was a kid, all the way to the end of my studies at the conservatory, have prioritized in lessons; Working less hard to sound better. I’m here to help you in the same way, to decipher with you certain sounds, certain gestures in recorder playing, so that we can map out together your skill set, and eventually find your own style of play. When it comes to the grammar part of music, I’m ready to teach you everything about reading notes, intervals, chords, and all the principles of music theory, with examples and fun exercises. I am a very patient person, and have experience with beginners as well as “matured” amateurs :) I hold a masters in early music, along with a bachelors in classical composition. My dream is to live from composition mainly, writing music for concerts, film and ballet. Currently I’m working on a ballet commission from the Schauspielhaus in Zurich, and more original music for a series of concerts next summer in France. My favorite composers are Bartok... and a bunch of anonymous medieval ones. How about you?

I am professionally trained classical saxophone player and teacher. Over the years I have had the opportunity to teach and perform in Europe (Slovenia, Austria, United Kingdom, Germany) and USA (St. Louis). I have worked with students aged from 5 to high school level, as well as adult beginners. Teaching using a French school method of saxophone I specializing in classical and contemporary music literature. I incorporate some music theory, specialize in building the correct saxophone embouchure (or the correct lipping), overtone technique for advanced students , airstream production and correct breathing technique. Adapting specific saxophone-technique methods to each student's needs and progress. Finding lessons fun is important for the success of learning an instrument so I always do my best to keep our lessons relaxed and engaging. I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts. I give private piano lessons for all levels and styles (classical, jazz, Latin, new age, pop...), as well as music theory, composition and improvisation lessons. Hey! My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels. For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that! Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;) I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example. The lessons would take place at my home in Mol or via webcam. If necessary, we can always agree on something else. At my studio my students will not only learn how to play the piano, but they will receive a complete musical education in order to achieve their musical dreams. And if the students wish, I can help them to prepare for the ABRSM exams and competitions as well. But if the profile and the interests of the students goes on another way, I will give them all the tools they need to understand the language of music in depth, so they can find their own voice on the instrument. In that case the lessons will include contents of piano technique, score reading, applied harmony on the keyboard, composition, improvisation, musical arrangement, music production, recording techniques, jazz and pop music analysis and performance. Both programs can be combined depending on the focus and the profile of the student, or in case the student would like to go deeper in one of the previously mentioned subjects there is the opportunity to take an independent course of specialization on the desired topic. At the end of the semester every student will perform at the winter and summer concerts held every year and will have the possibility of making a recording session with the material worked during the term. With this, the student will not only be able to see his progress and work, but also will give him a direct experience of performing and working on a live or studio recording session, which is a fundamental part of the developing process of every musician. Dear students: My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education. My experience runs mostly in early and classical music with an active performing life, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals. As a docent or vocal coach I've collaborate with different academic institutions and private artistic projects, focusing mostly on international students or social integration programs. I have years of experience teaching children, teenagers and adults in both Latin-America and Europe, therefore understanding different appreciation levels and needs.
