Do you want to learn the basics of drawing? Or are you already past that level? Do you want to draw on paper (with pencils) or on a screen? Do you want to learn the basics of 2D animation? All for a very reasonable price? We can do it! Nice to meet you, I'm Daniel. I'm a (private) art teacher, I'm also a freelance artist and have been working as one for about 7 years. I'm looking for students in Utrecht, I have a teaching space available in my apartment (I can share my address when you contact me), but am also able to travel to your desired space within the city. I can also teach via webcam, but I do recommend my in-person classes, seeing as they're more immersive and educational. I unfortunately do not speak Dutch (yet), but am confident we can overcome any potential language barrier we come across. I have the most experience in teaching teenagers and preteens, so I think we would definitely be a good match if you're a parent or guardian looking for a teacher for your child. This course is aimed at those wishing to improve or discover the disciplines of traditional and/or digital drawing. I have a bachelor's degree in computer graphics, animation and illustration since 2019. I teach drawing in general and the use of the Adobe suite (including Illustrator and Photoshop, the most popular digital drawing software). To establish your program, tell me what you want to work on and I will write your lessons accordingly. The first lesson will be used to see your level. Looking forward to working together!

Would you like to be able to illustrate the worlds and stories you imagine? Do you want to learn how to create characters for a video game, animation, children's story, comic or in any format? Or would you like to be able to draw your favorite characters? If you have those concerns, I would love to help you. I like to focus the classes in such a way that the current drawing level of the student is not what is important. The room for improvement will always evolve. I like to take my classes towards character design, towards general things like the psychology of color and shapes, since they are assimilable and highly useful concepts, independent of the level of drawing. For this reason, my classes are aimed at all ages and drawing levels. I also try to focus them on the preferences and tastes of each student, showing them that everything they like, they like for a reason, that nothing is left to chance and that they can also understand how to make their drawings reflect what they want to convey. Even to create your portfolios or visual information for your own project or story. I give private classes with students from different parts of the world, so many of my classes I have been able to do in both English and French. I studied 2D animation in France, and thanks to this training, my work has been nourished by dynamism, storytelling, expressiveness, typical of this medium, as well as the sensitivity for color and shapes that I usually use to infuse a unique style both to my original designs as well as my fanarts.

I hold a PhD in Art and Communication with Photography as my field of specialism and a PGCE teaching certificate in Post Compulsory Education. At the same time I am a practising photographic artist with an interest in abstract photography. I have a comprehensive understanding of contemporary photographic practices and of theoretical approaches to the subject, and also have a strong technical grounding both in traditional and in digital processes. I am experienced in all stages of the development of photographic projects, from early conceptualisation through to printing and exhibiting.I have exhibited nationally and internationally in both solo and group shows. My selection for the Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2008 Exhibition in Liverpool and London is one highlight among them. As an artist and teacher I insist on the highest professional standards and I emphasise clear and direct communication and honesty throughout. I have been teaching photography since 2009. I offer private lessons to photography students and any other individuals who would be interested in 'how to'/technical skills sessions or in developing a photographic body of work and would be in need for some expert advice. The camera has long since become my best ally when I go out into nature, and I no longer contemplate going without it. Capturing details, the light of the sunset, the inhabitants of the forest, or the immensity of the night sky is my way of being present and connecting with the environment that surrounds me. After working as a Northern Lights guide and photographer, I have noticed that quite a few people come with their cameras hoping to capture an aurora borealis, but without any prior experience in night photography. This art requires patience, technique and practice, especially when it comes to the Northern Lights where the light is constantly changing. It is because of this experience that I decided to open this service.
