I have a lot of experience teaching cello and for me, the most important thing in my lessons is learn well and enjoy. Ussually, my lesson programme is start with a short warm up (technique exercises) to continue with different cello pieces chosen by the students. I have a lot of pop and actual music cello pieces for all levels. In addition, I'm familiar with methods like ABRSM, Suzuki, Feuillard, Duport, Popper and Piatti.

Violin is a classical instrument but you can play everything on the violin :) if you want to learn to play the violin or improve your level, let me know! First, we will learn to hold the violin and bow, then we will learn to play notes one by one, and then we will learn to combine individual notes into a melody. For this we will need to study the rhythm. But it is no more difficult than arithmetic. We will play music from different composers, different styles and different eras. My name is José Pablo and I am a trumpet graduate from the “Óscar Esplá” Superior Conservatory of Music in Alicante. Currently I live in Madrid and I am studying the Master of Music Therapy + Master in Montessori Pedagogy and from the month of April, I will start the Master in Musical Research at VIU. I have been teaching trumpet classes individually and in groups since 2012. My goal is always that you enjoy each class to the fullest, but I try to learn to the maximum of this great world that is MUSIC. My way of seeing life means that I am always in continuous learning and that is why I always seek to improve my skills as a teacher. My goal is to be able to offer classes in regulated education, either in primary or secondary education and / or professional and higher conservatories.

I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. Music Theory is a vital step in approaching Music Composition, especially when done for film and media. Therefore, I've designed this course to teach both topics as independent and inter-connected subjects. In this course, the student will learn about the foundations of Music Theory by studying melody, harmony, rhythm and timbre. To learn about Music Composition, we will then focus on how these work together to create a piece of music. Finally, we'll redirect everything we've learned and new knowledge on scoring a film scene. Moreover, we'll study pre-existing films and their music to understand the vital relation between image and sound.

I specialise in advanced Classical and Jazz Piano, Composition and Arranging, as well as fundamentals of Theory of Music for students from ABRSM Grade 5 to Diploma level. I offer substantial discounts for families and for bundles of 5 or 10 lessons. I have a well-equipped studio with a new grand piano as well as other keyboards and music tech gear, and teach both in-person for students living in Edinburgh, and online internationally. Both programs can be combined depending on the focus and the profile of the student, or in case the student would like to go deeper in one of the previously mentioned subjects there is the opportunity to take an independent course of specialization on the desired topic. At the end of the semester every student will perform at the winter and summer concerts held every year and will have the possibility of making a recording session with the material worked during the term. With this, the student will not only be able to see his progress and work, but also will give him a direct experience of performing and working on a live or studio recording session, which is a fundamental part of the developing process of every musician.
