About Me

Hi my name is Kerry,

Presently in teaching art classes in Ede, Netherlands.

I am a visual artist who enjoys teaching various drawing and painting techniques. It is very rewarding seeing my students artistic vocabulary grow with each lesson. Encouraging students to try new approaches, and seeing rapid results. Whether it is exploring painting with watercolours, acrylic or oil paints. Landscapes, portraits or still life. Abstracts on large canvases. The artistic journey is fulfilling, exciting, and always evolving.

Grood first sesson. Need to know ahead what is required for each session so that we are prepared. Like preparing a picture, ruler, paint brushes, colours, cloth, paintbrush etc. I only thought we were writing with notebook and llooking at colour wheell. Son is also autistic

Egg tempera is one of the most ancient historical art painting technique. It preserved as a main technique to paint orthodox religious icons. It is possible to learn it and paint your own icon. I have 9 years of practice teaching people how to do it. We work together step by step to understand the technique, the way to prepare wooden panel to paint an icon and the techniques of making a good project to make the icon fit to the board. We also learn how to make gold leaf layer on the nimbs. Your icon will be a real, crafted icon.

Colorimetry: the color theory necessary for visual artists and makeup artists
Colorimetry is a fundamental tool to begin to understand the behavior of colors, where they come from, and how to obtain them. We will see the color wheel, primary and secondary colors, and how to apply them to create different types of palettes. In turn, we will see the triads of colors to generate cold and warm palettes, and you will experience first-hand how to create those colors. We will also have a brief part of research into pigments (the source of color) and works of art throughout history, to see the use of different painting techniques. Since we are going to focus in our classes on color theory, it is not strictly necessary that you know how to draw or paint, or that you have knowledge of perspective or others. This course is designed to complement your knowledge of art and improve your ability to choose the colors and palette you want to work with.
