As a native English speaker qualified in primary teaching, I can support your child with the British & IB English and language curriculums as well as supporting with homework. I will provide English tutoring to a small group of students or individual students to address student gaps. I will support and guide students to achieve success and realise their potential. I will help manage student’s learning and provide a high quality learning experience.

Normally the foreign language is learned in an unnatural way by focusing on grammar and writing, when in reality we know that a language is learned first by speaking and then by reading and writing. Just as young children do, remembering and associating. Learning to use and enjoy a language is the basis for learning to read and write later. With this inversion of the order of the factors, the learning of grammatical rules and spelling is not forgotten, but rather they can be learned more easily as soon as they begin to acquire oral skills.

My experience? One of my first studies was Fontys Lerarenopleiding (Tilburg) to be a Spanish teacher. Part of this was teaching Spanish to teenagers at a high school, being a Dutch tutor for my university classmates, and staying in Madrid to study at the University of Nebrija for a month. I have something like 10 years of experience in teaching classes: individual and group, with children and adults, online and face to face. I live in Spain (now in Barceloneta) with my partner since 2019, I have studied in Chile for 5 months and 3 months in Mexico for my master's degree. As an experienced and qualified teacher of Science, Maths, and English I offer two different sets of classes. I have taught in high schools in Ireland for three years and before that I completed a degree in Medicinal Chemistry. English as Second Language Learning another language is a difficult process and at different times your needs will vary. At times more focus on grammar and vocabulary is needed to help you reach the next level of understanding. At other times a focus on pronunciation and conversation is needed to enhance your fluency. At this class the teaching will be adaptive to your needs and we can set common goals together. Science and Maths Preparing to undergo exams can be daunting and it is much better to keep up with your class as opposed to falling behind and trying to catch up while under pressure right before your exam. In this class we will go over what you are learning at the minute on your course as well as looking forward to the next topics so that you are prepared when your teacher introduces it in class. This will avoid feeling lost moment that happens when new topics are introduced and will help you get the most out of your teachers instructions.
