Violin learning is the process of discovering one's own voice through the infinite possibilities that this four strings instrument has to offer. From sparkling, intense and rough to pure, kind and crystalline; learning the violin, as many other arts, is about freeing the emotion through the discipline and order of sound and movement. Let me introduce myself. I am Ángeles, an Andalusian in Finland, finishing my master degree in Music Performance at the prestigious Sibelius Academy with great professor Mari Tampere-Bezrodny. I came to Helsinki two years ago seeking for a personal and cultural growth, with huge passion for music and the need to share it. I discovered in violin teaching a new path to that energy to come true, to materialize, by inspiring and leading enthusiastic students to their best performance. The starting level and goals of the student will determine the direction of the lessons. I aim to strike a balance as much as possible between teaching technical skills and musicality, as of course there cannot be one without the other when learning an instrument. Lessons are a mixture of teaching and demonstrating correct posture, finger patterns or body movements, and teaching and engaging a learner with rhythm, pitch and melody, and then combining them together. I am a firm believer in tackling one aspect at a time in lessons and gradually combining it with another aspect of playing. I often include activities such as playing a note and asking the student to match my pitch or sound quality, or including musical games that can develop musical memory and rhythm. The most important aspect of learning any instrument is of course the music! Aiming to help a student find music (or if they have ideas they are welcome to bring them along!) that they love and find absorbing - this can be any genre, as long as it has a tune! I have a variety of books of different levels that I can use to help students find styles that are fun and enjoyable for them. There are technical things that need to be worked on in playing any instrument - but of fundamental importance is that the student has a feel for the music they play and a musical idea of what the end goal of any piece is.

My goal is to make people of all ages and levels learn not only playing an instrument but how can music help them in their everyday life. I am an Albanian violinist, with a Bachelor degree in Classical Music (Violin) and Musicologie in Sorbonne University. Over the years, my experiences with different youth and professional orchestras all around Europe have made me understand that music is important not only for professional musicians but also for everyone. I am a professional violinist. I graduated with distinction at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (Master) and hold a Bachelor Diploma from Codarts (Rotterdam). I also pursued a masters degree in Music Education at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. I teach students of all ages and levels. I have thirteen years of teaching experience in the Netherlands and in Belgium ( privately and at music schools: Hart Muziekschool in Haarlem and Vioolstudio 020! in Amsterdam). In my lessons I help the students to find a good contact with the instrument and cultivate a positive relationship with music by integrating the development of aural skills, sense of rhythm and an optimal body use, enabling them to connect with their musical imagination. Hello! I have been teaching classes continuously for more than 10 years and I would like to explain what you can find in a class with me! - To begin with, the most important thing is to know what you want to achieve. I would like to focus the classes according to what you need. For example, we will not put the same level of demand if you want to play for pleasure at home without haste or if you want to do some entrance exams to musical studies (although always with the same good rigor). The needs of each student can vary the methodology, the way of organizing the study sessions, the postural work, the repertoire... - Once we know what we want to achieve and by when, classes will begin in a relaxed atmosphere. Important! Relaxed is not equal to undemanding or rigorous, just that we will try not to resort to military methods, especially given my character and sense of humor ;). - Something important to note is that my methods are very dynamic and with special emphasis on the development of the ear and musicality. No reading, spitting and changing songs. I try to avoid methods that focus too much on the continuous reading of scores without memorizing, listening or understanding what is being done and why, especially so that later you can make your own aesthetic decisions and feel ownership of your performance. Alert! Maybe I'll even make you sing. - Last but not least, it should be noted that given my training (I studied classical music and modern music and jazz at the Taller de Músics) my tendency will be to give the same importance to different types of music. We will adapt to your tastes and needs, but for me we can go from baroque to blues, from blues to Haydn's sonatas, from Haydn to bebop and from bebop to Michael Jackson. Why not?
