About Me

I am passionate about teaching and you will see it in the course of our lessons as they will be fun, yet very effective and as close to real life as possible. I am multilingual which means I have learned a lot of languages and this, in turns, helps me spot/understand the troublesome parts you will probably be going through - and I will do my best to facilitate it for you.

I am scholastic when it comes to correcting HW and leave a lot of comments, so you can understand what you did wrong.

I use a variety of materials (books/articles/youtube/quizlet, etc.) in the teaching process.
I have helped a lot of students achieve their goals (prepare efficiently for an interview, get FCE/CPE/IELTS, etc.) or simply have an interesting conversation with the view to improving pronunciation/grammar.

During the lesson we can use Skype/WhatsApp or any other communicator and Google Docs simultaneously for notes.

Justyna has a very clear clue for teaching, she has passion with teaching. She helps the students to get the key points for studying. Let them know and control how to use these skills for study and learn. She’s a super good teacher.
Justyna is a very kind and competent teacher. Our weekly hour spent together was always very productive....even when the learner is not very assiduous :-)). Justyna always find a way to get you to learn / do something interesting. I recommend her without hesitation.

Justyna is a graduate of the University of Athens and she is very much qualified to deliver Greek courses. She has great teaching skills and more than 10 years of experience in teaching the Greek language. Her communication skills are also commendable, and she can find the appropriate way to establish a very effective communication with the pupil. She is very meticulous and attentive to detail and she speaks always in a positive tone. The quality of her work is impeccable, and she has also elaborated here own teaching material (for example, PowerPoint presentations) to facilitate the on-line courses. I was very much surprised to see that even the Greek sounds of letters in her PowerPoint file were created with her own voice! With regard to the online courses, she has also the right technical skills to use the various online tools and software (e.g. Google tools), something which is not evident when working with other teachers. She is very flexible in terms of the time of the courses and she is accepting the various time constraints which may derive from the day-to-day schedule of the pupil. She is always in time for her courses and very accessible as well as reliable concerning all the necessary arrangements. In terms of attitude, she is very enthusiastic, an element which has a great impact on the pupil to actively follow up her during the whole duration of the course. She is also very dynamic in the way she delivers the courses, and she does not forget to praise the pupil when necessary. She is always assertive, independently of the learning pace of the pupil. Last but not least, I think she has the right ratio of humour in her courses in order to make the one hour passing with her as pleasant as possible. I highly recommend her from my experience so far.
Great teacher! Friendly, funny and very motivating. We look forward to our next lesson!

I graduated from the University of Athens where I attended courses in pedagogics, psychology, and linguistics. I worked at a language center between 2009-2016 where I was a director of studies and taught mainly English as a foreign/second language. Since 2005, when I first started teaching English, I have taught children and adults on a variety of language proficiency levels and with a variety of needs (general knowledge/terminology/for specific purposes), both individually and in groups. I constantly seek progress, meaning that I study further through reading books/articles concerning didactics/methodology and learning difficulties (chiefly dyslexia), observing other teachers as well as attending seminars (online or face-to-face). I will help you learn weird English spelling and pronunciation with fun. Kevin
Non-academic Latin lessons. Multilingual teacher with 9 years of experience. Pronunciation, historical linguistics, conceptual semantics.
Contrary to popular belief, learning Latin is not like learning the phone book by heart. I offer you Latin lessons that are unlike any other. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you take the train back and forth every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Learn the schedules by heart. 2) Note that the train arrives every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in study notebooks and in ordinary courses, it is the first approach which is adopted - in the courses that I offer you, it is the second because it is more economical and faster. My offer is aimed at both students and adults who want to learn the Latin language or deepen their knowledge without time-consuming detours through the insanities of school methods which do not produce results. Learning is easy but unlearning what has become a bad habit is extremely difficult. All the more important it is to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning in a positive state of mind. I offer individual or group Latin lessons (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive sciences and in particular historical linguistics. What will not be the subject of the course: learn lists of verbs; learn lists of nouns with their gender; learn words with their translations; memory card game; doing school exercises; follow the program in a notebook; impose French grammar on the Latin language. What matters to me in particular: motivate my student and give him a learning rhythm; encourage creativity; make friends with language; letters and their sounds strengthen your memory by working on the phonological loop; teach construction plans instead of having people learn sentences by heart; explain how the language works to make my student independent as quickly as possible; breaking preconceived ideas such as the gammatical gender would have a link with the biological gender, the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, the verbs would be irregular, the declension would be random and therefore to be learned with each verb... ; place practice at the center and articulate grammar around practice. In the context of a first course, you can get a well-founded idea of my pedagogy. I look forward to meeting you.

Reuben
Oxford Classics Graduate offering Latin Language tuition from scratch up to A-Level standard
As a recent Oxford Classics graduate, I am keen to share my love of Latin and the Latin language with any would-be enthusiasts. I have experience in tutoring Latin from scratch to A-Level equivalent standard. In these classes, I'll focus on equipping my students with the necessary tools to master grammar and build up their vocabulary repertoire. We'll focus on strengthening our understanding of the building blocks of the language - noun declensions, verb conjugations, participles and the like - before moving onto more complex syntax such as subjunctive clauses. My lessons take an active approach so alongside the grammar tables we'll also translate passages of Latin, and I might throw in a fun fact or two!

Alexandre

If you have any questions or would like to start a journey with me, do not hesitate to contact me. Together, we will find the method that suits you!

Will
1st Class Cambridge Graduate – Latin & Ancient Greek Classes
Flexibility is central to my approach, and I will adapt our lesson plans to your specific needs and objectives. I have a deep knowledge of Latin and Greek linguistics, and offer tuition to all levels from Beginner, through GCSE and A-Level, up to those studying Classics at university. In our first lesson, we'll get to know each other and discuss your objectives and style of learning - I want to understand how you like to learn, what you find easy, and what you find difficult. And from there, we'll develop a well-prepared, interesting and valuable lesson plan. If learning a language is the scariest thing in the world to you, don't worry! I will always be a friendly, patient and devoted tutor. I have experience tutoring students in 4 different languages over the past 5 years. I understand the importance of sympathy and patience in teaching, and will always be able to slow down or speed up the course of learning as required. Latin and Greek are not easy, but with an experienced and friendly teacher, it can be a brilliant experience! I'm happy to run lessons of any length, and at any frequency. At various times in my life I've personally tried to learn almost 20 different languages (though Latin and Greek remain my favourites!), so I know very well how it feels to be staring at a page full of weird-looking words, and not have a clue where to start. Helping people to cut through the chaos, and see the wild beauty of complex languages like Latin and Greek, is one of the most satisfying feelings I've had through my years of tutoring both children and adults. My mission as a tutor will always be more than just to build your ability in these languages, it will be to build your love of them as well.

Support courses in French and Latin - Middle and high school
Experienced teacher and chalk in hand, offers coaching (online or at home) taking into account the learner's level and adopting the most appropriate method for adequate monitoring. Online, the sessions will be recorded and the video will be available for the listener (for their revisions). If you are a student in an exam class, you will find, through various media, the resources to upgrade your skills and approach the tests with more confidence, and the certainty of a positive result. The difficulties linked to analysis (grammatical and logical), the methodology of exam tests (dissertation, summary, commentary), the understanding of texts, genres and literary trends will no longer be a secret or a pitfall to success. If you are preparing for a competition, more in-depth training to achieve the required performance will be offered. Beginner or advanced Latinists, you will be able to master the subtleties of Latin morphology, syntax and conjugation. Teaching International Humanitarian Law at 2 Levels; Intermediate - Advanced
With over one year experience in teaching and a decade long experience with adolescents and young adults, I, herein, present my course in "International Humanitarian Law". In today's globalized world where the effects and repercussions of a conflict are not confined within a single state, it becomes crucial to know what rules are in place that regulate conflict and provide protection to those who are vulnerable. Aiming to mitigate and prevent human suffering in an armed conflict, International Humanitarian Law gives us answers to questions, such as: who can and cannot be targeted and under which conditions; at what times does a protected person lose protection; who is a combatant; what distinguishes a combatant from a civilian; and, what protections are available to those who do not take part in an armed conflict. Amidst the many interstate conflicts, such as, Ukraine-Russia, Iran-Israel and Palestine-Israel conflicts, as well as the intrastate ones, such as in Sudan, having a working knowledge of International Humanitarian Law becomes even more vital as it re-establishes one's trust in law and humanity at such uncertain times as these ones.
