I offer double bass lessons for all levels and ages, to everyone interested in learning the basics or willing to refine their technique. I started playing when I was 8 years old, and I keep finding reasons for repeatedly falling in love with it, which is something I would love to share with everyone who would like to get closer to this wonderful instrument. I obtained my bachelor's degree in classical performance in Barcelona, and I am currently pursuing my master's in Rotterdam. I am a double bass player based in the city of Leuven. I recently obtained my third master in music in double bass at the LUCA School of Arts – Campus Lemmens. I am currently working as a double bass tutti in the Brussels Philharmonic and i am the bass player of the ensembleDRE. As a double bass player i have played in different amateurs and young Orchestras like NJO, the junge-deutsch franzosische philarmonie and Futurorchestra, and with professional Orchestras like Casco Phil and Ataneres Ensemble. As a teacher i have taught pop music and electric bass in Italy. Through my experiences , concerning different kinds of music, i would like to approach the double bass and/or electric bass to people of any age. At the same time, I can offer clearly structured lessons to students of any age, interested in classical music repertoire but also in other genres as pop and rock. Originally from Israel, Elam is currently living and working in New York City. Elam has performed internationally in Bern, Berlin, Belgrade, Paris, Marseille, Vienna, Lublijana, Klagenfurt, Rostov, Zagreb, Krakow, Prague, Vigo and other places. Elam has performed at the Red Sea Jazz Festival twice with the Yuval Cohen Sextet and the JT and the magnificent soul big band, as well as at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Marseille Jazz festival, Bern Jazz Festival, Tel Aviv Jazz festival, Smalls Jazz club, Mezzrow, Duc des Lombards, Cangas Jazz Festival and others. Elam has had the opportunity to record as a sideman with such artists as Eric McPherson, Will Sellenraad, Omer Leshem, Tom Oren, Hillai Govreen and many others. About the Lesson: Are you a music enthusiast that wants to start learning how to play? Are you an already good player but you want to further develop your skills? Nevertheless, during our instrumental lesson we will cover a portion of the material of all the modules.

My approach as a teacher is based on adapting to the needs of each student. My teaching methodology is flexible, personalized and focused on making you enjoy learning while developing your skills. Throughout the course, we will work on fundamental technical and musical aspects such as rhythmic precision, bass line construction, solo improvisation, the use of harmony in context, and music reading. All of this adapted to your aptitudes and aspirations! My classes are open to both beginners and experienced musicians. If you are just starting out, I will work with you to create a solid foundation, while if you are already more knowledgeable, we will delve deeper into the aspects that interest you most, in order to develop your own style. I have 2 diplomas in Jazz Bass from Sweden and a degree in Jazz Bass Performance from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I love teaching and I have taught since 2016. And I love the bass! I teach double bass, electric bass, composition, improvisation and music theory. I have experience teaching complete beginners with zero prior musical knowledge to more advanced players.
