I have a PhD in economics from Georgetown University and I have worked as an Associate Professor of Economics and Finance in various universities in Turkey.

About Me

My academic training and seven years of experience working as a faculty member in different universities in Turkey prepare me an effective researcher and instructor at your institution. I have received my PhD in economics in 2009 from Georgetown University which is one of the most prestigious and well-known universities in United States. My doctoral dissertation examines monetary policy shocks using a DSGE model and analyzes the role of labor market institutions on inflation and wage dynamics. During my PhD study at Georgetown University, I also worked as a teaching assistant and helped students in various undergraduate and graduate courses.
Until I obtained my tenure and become an Associate Professor of Economics in October 2013, my research agenda was about Turkish banking industry. As you may also see in my CV, I published various papers in well-known journals about credit channel of monetary policy, concentration and competition, determinants of non-performing loans and profitability in Turkish banking sector. After I get my tenure, my research agenda is generally shaped by energy economics and I published various academic papers and non-academic policy reports on this issue. One of papers entitled “Energy Future of Europe and the Role of Southern Gas Corridor” was chosen as one of the well-written policy papers in United States. My position as a senior fellow at Caspian Strategy Institute, an Istanbul based think tank, significantly contributed my research portfolio during this period.
Besides my research portfolio, I also build strong educational skills during the past seven years as a faculty member in different universities. I taught various courses at the undergraduate and graduate level and obtained strong evaluations from my students. Microeconomics, Economic Policy, Financial Economics, Industrial Economics and Financial Accounting may be listed as some of the courses that I teach at the undergraduate level. At the graduate level, I generally teach finance courses including Advance Finance, Financial Management, Derivative Products, and International Economics.
With my experience, training and enthusiasm I am prepared to establish my research agenda at your valuable institution. I am looking forward to teach courses in various fields of economics and finance. I am also prepared to develop new courses that would fit in and enrich your existing curriculum.

The class was well-structured, and Faith's passion for the subject was evident throughout. I appreciated the personalized attention I received, which significantly enhanced my understanding of economic principles. Overall, I highly recommend Faith for anyone seeking a top-notch economics tutor. I look forward to continuing my classes with him and I am confident in the value he brings to the learning experience.
I am having classes with Fatih 3 times a week, and I just want to add more because they are very helpful. Fatih manages to explain me my hardest class (Fixed Income), in a way that towards the end of each 1.5 h I leave with confidence that I am more prepared and the knowledge stayed in my head. Fatih helps me create intuition and better understanding in each topic. I am very happy with our classes. I highly recommend him for finance courses.
