Music production and recording technology may seem complicated at first glance, but in our 1-on-1 private lessons we can discuss the creative and technical tools you need to unleash your own creativity. During the lessons we can learn to work with different programs, such as Logic, Pro Tools or Ableton. The lessons are for students of all ages and levels. Knowledge of solfège is not required. A powerful Digital Audio Workstation that allows musicians and beginner producers to record a whole album if they wish. I'll teach you how to remake a song/piece of your choosing from the ground up. You'll use the inbuilt virtual instruments, your own voice, and your guitar/keyboard to rebuild your chosen track or give it your own unique stamp. Music production is a huge topic so I'll teach you the essential musical skills such as ear training, understanding rhythm, and basic harmony. You'll learn basic recording skills using the iPad mic or an interface and we'll use virtual/real instruments to record the parts. You'll learn how to edit and I'll show you how to create an interesting song structure and how to layer multiple tracks so they don't clash! Finally, we'll look at mixing, effects, and EQ to give your track a professional polish!

My class is for anyone interested in music as a tool for life. The focus is to learn how to play an instrument and also cultivate mindfulness habits. I have taught with my own method for 20 years to hundreds of students from all walks of life. We start our session with a short mindfulness exercise and then you'll learn how to play your chosen instrument through your favourite songs. If you're interested we can also then start to learn how to write songs and even record them!

This class aims to help students develop the skills necessary to write original songs, from generating ideas to composing lyrics and melodies. Students will learn how to structure a song, create emotional resonance, and apply basic music theory to enhance their songwriting. By the end of the lesson, students will have written a complete song draft, incorporating both lyrical and musical elements. Target Audience: This class is suitable for beginner to intermediate songwriters, musicians, and anyone interested in learning the art of songwriting. No prior music theory knowledge is required, but a basic understanding of instruments (guitar, piano, etc.) or vocal skills will be helpful.
