I am soprano with a Bachelor's degree in Vocal performance, focusing on Opera, Lied and Oratorio. I teach anyone of any age, from beginner to intermediate, who has an interest in learning to sing. Although my repertoire focusses on classical music, I am happy to work through a variety of genres including folk, musical theatre and popular music, all of which I have experience with. Everyone's voice is unique, and this is one of the beautiful qualities of singing that I am so passionate about. I therefore create lessons tailored to each individual. Lessons will focus on technique, repertoire and interpretation, all of which will help you to build and understand your own true voice. Whatever your goal, I am happy to help!

I offer classes for children and adults of all ages. My name is Isabel Soteras, I am 30 years old and live in Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany). I completed a bachelor's degree in music education in Barcelona, my native city, and completed my master's degree in early music at the Freiburg University of Music two years ago. Since then I have been working as a freelance musician. My diverse teaching experience has shown that I enjoy teaching both children and adults a lot. It is important to me to lead musicians to success through my pedagogical and professional skills and to motivate them through constructive feedback.

My class will be teaching you how to elevate your vocals, access your different voices, vocal warm ups, motivation to keep going because everybody can sing if they try hard enough!! From my childhood I have been studying music and art: sang in choir and solo, played piano, painted, studied music history and literature, solfeggio. Later in college I have also learned choir conducting, had ensemble and choir singing lessons, cultural studies. During last year in university I had pedagogy practice at university and at private art school (where I worked as a music tutor before the war - piano, voice). I truly enjoyed working with students. They all were different age (8 - 40+ years old) and level. But all were very interesting and work was pleasant. My education was very various: my core subjects were conducting, choir, voice, piano. So it allowed me to work with children, teens and adults with quite wide range of interests and needs: some students needed/wanted to learn particular composition(s), sometimes pop songs arrangements, some were interested in “introduction” to the music, some wanted to renew skills they gained in their childhood and continue their journey to the music world. In addition I prepared presentations (which contained information about cultural and historical background and musical and character/art analysis). So after graduation from choir conducting faculty (which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in many important compatible branches) I concentrated on studying classical singing and piano, expanded my cultural studies and analysis knowledge, practiced solfeggio and harmony.

My recommendation for learning the Oud is to begin by studying musical notes and notation before delving into songs. While some students prefer to jump straight into playing songs, understanding the fundamentals of music notation accelerates progress in the long run. Dedication and hard work can yield significant progress within a year, enabling you to play simple tunes. However, if you lack a passion for music or the instrument itself, I advise against pursuing it. As a friendly and passionate teacher, I derive joy from witnessing my students' progress and enjoy playing duets with them. With 27 years of experience as a violin teacher, artist and composer, I transmit my love of music in a creative, playful and holistic way. I have developed a method that adapts to each student according to their needs, levels and desires.
