At the age of fourteen, I picked up a guitar, and two decades later, it feels like an extension of my soul. My musical journey has led me to teach a diverse range of students—from seven-year-olds to adults—covering everything from the pop and blues to the soulful depths of rock, jazz, funk, and folk. During my studies at the Royal Conservatory I learned the how work with the basics of the Kodaly solmisation system and In addition I taught ensemble lessons at the International School of The Hague. Further on, I got the opportunity to develop my knowledge on music theory, and gained experience with rhythmic, melodic solfège and sightreading. These are topics I always like to include in my lessons, because I find them very important not only for the personal growth of each musician, but also for the deeper connection they create between the musician and the instrument. Pedro is really experienced and flexible teacher with a big repertoir and a variety of music styles. We focused on jazz guitar and learned standard compositions. Pedro was able to find good examples and songs for what I needed to learn and adjusted them for our lessons. It certainly boosted my jazz guitar skills and getting started with improvising.
