Hello everybody! My name is Isabelle and I have been a French teacher for several years. I have an A2 Baccalaureate, I have worked in several companies and in several places, in particular in Monte-Carlo and Algiers when I was in marketing at ABB. Currently I live between Nice (France) and Milan (Italy) where I give French lessons to Italians who require either academic support or to improve their level in preparation for the DELF or DALF. Learn Italian in a fun and structured way! My lessons are designed for all levels – beginner, intermediate, and advanced. We’ll focus on conversation, listening, grammar, and vocabulary to help you speak naturally and confidently. Each lesson is personalized to your goals, whether you’re learning Italian for travel, work, or personal enrichment. My teaching style is interactive and practical, with plenty of speaking practice to help you progress quickly and enjoy the journey of learning.

In this course, you will learn a range of linguistic methods and learn the terms used for describing a specific aspect of language or phenomenon (lexis, morphemes, and 'telegraphic stage' to give a few examples). The course requires you to explore your own data using quantitative and qualitative analysis (eg: how frequently are slang phrases used? Are there new auxiliaries being created?). No historical linguistics or literature is involved, but language change or specific traits will be sampled via your own data collection (if this is what is demanded in your course). As many students need to present a "year abroad" dissertation at University level (3rd year in the UK of a Modern Languages or Linguistics Undergraduate course) I can help you to research and structure your year abroad work, both in English (Linguistics) and Romance languages (French, Italian, Spanish). The topics that have arisen from recent discussions with students relate to French Caribbean writing, Italian resistance and reprisals in Rome (Fosse Ardiatine), and Spanish Etica franquista in films (among others).

Being a pianist and a piano teacher, I already have lots of experience with teaching and pedagogical approach with the whole range of ages. I offer Italian lessons for adults using a specific, very lively and effective method that will allow you to understand, read books in Italian, watch films in the original version and above all to express yourself quickly, with a solid grammatical foundation, in everyday life, but also to have rich conversations with your interlocutors. I like to personalize each class/course according to the needs and goals of my students. My classes are focused on improving the student's communication skills. At beginner and lower intermediate levels, I prefer using a text book/ student book in the first part of the class. I usually use "Nuovissimo Progetto Italiano" and "Arrivederci" by Edilingua, or "Nuovo Espresso" and "Dieci" by Alma Publishing. For the second part of the lesson, I create engaging contents using original videos, press articles, extracts from blogs and social media, literary texts. If the students do not feel comfortable using Italian from scratch, I can switch to English, German, or Dutch. The course fee includes the correction of home assignments.
