I am a native American English speaking instructor, editor, journalist, and legal/policy expert from Florida specializing in instruction, interview and exam prep, consulting and text correction for a wide range of professionals & students across Belgium including in the legal, academic, policy, and other fields. My past & present clients have included: professionals and politicians from all four major EU institutions, the Belgian government, the UNHCR, and various NGOs, alongside diplomats, doctors, journalists, and engineers, as well as a variety of other professions in addition to traditional students..I have had over 50+ repeat students on Apprentus (which recently changed their algorithm to only display the last six months). I have spent my entire childhood and adult life in the United States before completing a master's degree in Political Science and European Politics at KU Leuven. Additionally, I also possess Bachelor's degrees in Political Science and History. I have an extensive knowledge and experience of English grammar and literature, as well as current and past working experience in journalism (Anti-Competition Law and European Policy at the Policy and Regulatory Report) and both European and American politics. In the case of tutoring, I base my lessons on the subject seen by the student by explaining to him in another way with many examples and by making him practice as much as possible. In case of learning the basics, I have set up my own totally interactive method so that the student can practice and during which I speak almost only in English to be close to immersion during the lessons. I started tutoring English since 2020. Being an apprentice in 5 languages - English, French, Spanish, German, and Dutch - my teaching style is based on my experience on the other side of the classroom : Which teaching method suited me the most? What did I like to learn? What could have been better? For the lessons I use my own material (grammar sheets, vocabulary lists, exercise) but I can adapt if you prefer to follow specific textbooks. That said, the courses are based on immersive learning and a lot of oral communication, exclusively in English. After having assessed your level, the lessons will be divided into 3 main themes: vocabulary & writing, oral comprehension and finally oral expression. I can also help you translate any document or essay written in French, Portuguese or Spanish.

Who the courses are for: anyone who wants to learn English from scratch or who wants to improve their level of English (up to B2). I am also happy to teach children. The location: I would like the location not to be too far from the city, preferably in a library or a quiet place. I can also teach at home, but this will have to be discussed with my roommates. Availability: I do not yet know the final hours of my internship, but in principle I will not be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. From then on, I am available, especially on weekends. I am an accounting student whose mother tongue is English. My level in mathematics is suitable for primary school students as well as for students in the 1st to 4th years of secondary school.
