Private piano lessons (jazz and improvised music)

Translated by Google. Click to view original.
As a former professional musician, I offer private piano lessons. My specialty lies in teaching jazz, blues and improvised music. However, I also work with classical music and all other styles, depending on the objectives of my students.

My pedagogical approach is based on a natural method of learning music. We start with listening and playing, then gradually integrate the reading of notes, respecting everyone's rhythm. With this method, students are able to play from the first lesson. Part of the course is dedicated to group practice, with instruments such as piano, double bass and drums.

Classes take place in our private room located at Porte d'Orléans. In addition to individual lessons, we offer ensemble lessons for interested students, as well as the possibility of participating in our choir.

Do not hesitate to contact me to find out more. I can't wait to play music with you!

About Me

Translated by Google. Click to view original.
Claude, pianist - bassist - author - composer - performer - arranger - producer

A career bassist, Claude has accompanied various bands around the world: Louisiana Red, Champion Jack Dupree, John Thomas, Francisco Zumaque, Lou Blackburn, Nina Simone...

His meeting with Art Blakey and Dorothy Donegan encouraged him to reconnect with his first instrumental love: the piano.

He studied in several conservatories, then at the Bill Evans Piano Academy where he studied Harmony with Bernard Maury while accompanying him on the double bass during his masterclasses.

Today, Claude is perfected at the jazz piano, he goes to meet the culture of world music to offer you his deep, intense, voluptuous compositions, and draws his rhythmic strength from his African origins.
Arranger and studio musician, he composes lyrics, writes arrangements on bass and keyboard, and performs them in jazz, rap and pop groups alike.

I enjoyed music. Great time!
As a former professional bass player who accompanied various groups around the world (Louisiana Red, Champion Jack Dupree, John Thomas, Francisco Zumaque, Lou Blackburn, among others), I offer private jazz bass and double bass lessons. With nearly twenty years of experience in the music industry, I specialized in teaching music, particularly in the fields of jazz, blues and improvised music. I adopt a natural method of learning music that emphasizes listening and playing. Gradually, we introduce the reading of notes according to the rhythm of each student. Thanks to this approach, students are able to play from the first lesson. The last part of each session is devoted to practice through group play sessions (piano, double bass, drums). Classes take place in our private room located at Porte d'Orléans. In addition to individual lessons, we offer ensemble lessons for interested students, as well as the possibility of participating in our choir. Do not hesitate to contact me for more information. I look forward to sharing the music with you. Claudius

Welcome to the piano and/or music theory course with Andrés, a passionate Argentine harpsichordist and conductor who has recently arrived in France! I am excited to have the opportunity to continue sharing my love of music through teaching here. In this course, I offer you an individualized experience adapted to your musical needs and preferences. I firmly believe that every student has their own unique musical path, and my goal is to help you discover and develop that path efficiently and successfully in a relaxed work environment. Piano classes are completely individual, meaning you will receive personalized attention in each session. Piano lessons - pedagogue and adaptable - autonomy objective
Each course can contain a quick deciphering session of an accessible piece. You will see that session after session, you will make dazzling progress in piano reading which will allow you to be more and more independent. Learning the piano with a teacher allows you to get on the right track to learn calmly and efficiently. We will also play with four hands, because non-solo playing is a great tool for developing listening, reading, and musicality. EMOTION !!!! Piano available at home - travel to Paris and outskirts possible. Webcam lessons possible for reading and piano. Want to learn by ear? It is also possible, even if reading remains an immense asset in musical practice. Piano instruction - coupled music theory (theoretical session possible if necessary). If you have never played the piano, you will start off on a solid foundation.

Jérémy
Piano lessons for beginners and/or intermediate level (video or at home)
Depending on the support, the course will be structured in different ways. If we follow a tutorial on YouTube, the advice will be more oriented towards the positioning of the hands and fingers, the nuances to be achieved and the anticipation of the notes. If you choose a more traditional paper format instead, we can find the sheet music for the pieces you want to learn. In both cases, the basics of music theory will be reworked. I have been playing the piano for 20 years now and I also studied music theory for 5 years.

Giorgia
Piano lessons - music theory and harmony - for any level
I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

Piano Lessons in Classical and Contemporary Styles for Beginning-Advanced Levels (ages 6 and up)
Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music." Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (USA). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

Cheslava
Piano and Singing tutor with 5 years experience and professional education
From my childhood I have been studying music and art: sang in choir and solo, played piano, painted, studied music history and literature, solfeggio. Later in college I have also learned choir conducting, had ensemble and choir singing lessons, cultural studies. During last year in university I had pedagogy practice at university and at private art school (where I worked as a music tutor before the war - piano, voice). I truly enjoyed working with students. They all were different age (8 - 40+ years old) and level. But all were very interesting and work was pleasant. My education was very various: my core subjects were conducting, choir, voice, piano. So it allowed me to work with children, teens and adults with quite wide range of interests and needs: some students needed/wanted to learn particular composition(s), sometimes pop songs arrangements, some were interested in “introduction” to the music, some wanted to renew skills they gained in their childhood and continue their journey to the music world. In addition I prepared presentations (which contained information about cultural and historical background and musical and character/art analysis). So after graduation from choir conducting faculty (which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in many important compatible branches) I concentrated on studying classical singing and piano, expanded my cultural studies and analysis knowledge, practiced solfeggio and harmony.

Sebastián
Piano Lessons (Classical Music and Non classical), Music Theory, Harmony, Musical Arrangement, Composition
At my studio my students will not only learn how to play the piano, but they will receive a complete musical education in order to achieve their musical dreams. I will give all my best so everybody will get the tools for developing their own voice, helping them to master the instrument and teaching them all the theoretical knowledge they’ll need to make their particular personality shine. Openness, joy, dedication, creativity and passion for music are some of the things that you will find in the international environment of my studio. I care about who my students are and what they have to say to the world, and I will help them to develop it from the very first lesson. In my class you will not only be able to receive piano lessons but also will learn to understand how the music works as a language. If the interest and the profile of the student goes in the direction of the purely classical music performance, the lessons will be focused on a deep and conscious piano technique development, practicing techniques, musical interpretation, history of music, history of the piano, applied harmony on the keyboard, analysis, and score reading by a method that I have developed for over 15 years of experience. And if the students wish, I can help them to prepare for the ABRSM exams and competitions as well. All this is aiming to achieve in a very practical and exciting experience the best results in the fastest way possible. But if the profile and the interests of the students goes on another way, I will give them all the tools they need to understand the language of music in depth, so they can find their own voice on the instrument. In that case the lessons will include contents of piano technique, score reading, applied harmony on the keyboard, composition, improvisation, musical arrangement, music production, recording techniques, jazz and pop music analysis and performance. Both programs can be combined depending on the focus and the profile of the student, or in case the student would like to go deeper in one of the previously mentioned subjects there is the opportunity to take an independent course of specialization on the desired topic. At the end of the semester every student will perform at the winter and summer concerts held every year and will have the possibility of making a recording session with the material worked during the term. With this, the student will not only be able to see his progress and work, but also will give him a direct experience of performing and working on a live or studio recording session, which is a fundamental part of the developing process of every musician. Hope you can join and if so, I’ll be very happy to teach you!
