Learn and improve to speak Italian with a real Florentine
Do you love Italian people, history, and food and you would like to speak the language? I am a CEDILS-certified Italian teacher born and raised in Florence, and I've also been a language student myself for a long time! If you want to be able to interact with Italians quickly, I can give you some tips about correct pronunciation, fundamental grammar, and vocabulary, but also Italian art and popular culture, which I think is fundamental to understanding the mentality and the country that you are going to interact with. Lessons will be tailored according to the student's needs, level, and mother language and focused on the conversation. I am also available to proofread your writings.

Art history and archeology courses for beginners and more advanced people, all periods combined
I present introductory courses in art history and archaeology. I offer 2 different approaches, which you can choose according to your preferences: - A thematic approach, according to themes (such as color, pain, etc.), which allows us to overview a broader chronology and delve more deeply into the chosen theme. - A chronological and geographical approach, more focused on the modalities of a society and all its aspects. My goal is not exhaustiveness, but rather to offer diverse and varied approaches to art history and archeology to show the importance of these disciplines in our society. The courses are adaptable, and I will adapt to everyone's desires: don't hesitate to submit your desires and ideas to me!

Burcu
BA and MA history graduate to help with history lessons and additionally cooking
Hi! As a history student, I’ve developed strong study skills and effective methods for breaking down complex topics, which I now adapt to help my students learn in a way that suits them best. While I don’t have formal teaching experience, my academic journey has given me a solid foundation in research, organisation, and clear communication—all of which I bring to my lessons. I will design my lessons to be tailored and interactive. In the first session, I like to start with a conversation to understand your goals, what you’re currently working on, and where you feel you need the most help. This allows me to prepare resources and materials specifically for your needs, ensuring our time together is as productive as possible. My teaching method focuses on creating a structured yet flexible format. Typically, I am thinking to begin by explaining key concepts or reviewing material you might be struggling with. From there, we’ll work on practice questions—some we’ll tackle together, and others you’ll try on your own to build confidence and independence. This approach not only helps reinforce what you’ve learned but also ensures that you feel supported throughout the process. (If you have school homework, we can work through it during our lessons, ensuring you fully understand the material. Additionally, I can provide extra practice papers or assignments for you to complete between sessions if you’d like to deepen your understanding.) I’m here to support you every step of the way. My ultimate goal is to help you feel more confident in your abilities, whether we’re working on understanding challenging topics, completing assignments, or preparing for exams. Learning doesn’t have to be stressful—it can be engaging and even enjoyable with the right approach! Apart from being a history graduate I’m passionate about sharing the rich and diverse flavors of Turkish, Cypriot, and Greek cuisine! Growing up in Cyprus, I developed a deep love for the culinary traditions of the region, and now I enjoy teaching others how to recreate these delicious dishes at home. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned cook, I’m here to guide you with easy-to-follow recipes, tips, and techniques. From hearty stews to fresh mezes, I aim to bring the vibrant tastes of the Mediterranean to your table.

Private lessons of History of France, Europe, Occident
Holder of a double degree in history and political science from Panthéon Sorbonne and currently in Master 1 of History I wish to best help students with difficulties in history. I always assume that the basis of pedagogy is repetition and therefore patience with students. The courses I teach aim to provide students with historical knowledge allowing them to progress to school by improving their grades on the one hand but also by acquiring some methods of work on the other hand: methods analysis, collection and sorting of information that can serve them in other subjects but also in their daily lives. Finally, it is about awakening students' consciousness about the world in which they live. Indeed, the history of societies is the result of several developments that spread over time. The pupils are thus results of the History but also actors of this one.

Introduction to Film History (the class is in English)
This course offers a dynamic exploration of filmmaking as a timeline, weaving together the evolution of cinematic movements, genres, and influential auteurs with their corresponding geopolitical and historical contexts. Students will examine how film has both reflected and shaped societal narratives across different eras and regions. Key themes and topics include: The Birth of Cinema: Early experiments in motion pictures and the silent era's groundbreaking innovations. Movements and Revolutions: From German Expressionism and Italian Neorealism to the French New Wave and beyond. Genres Across Time: The rise of key genres, such as noir, science fiction, and musicals, and their social significance. Auteur Theory: In-depth analysis of iconic directors whose works have defined and challenged cinematic norms. Global Perspectives: Exploration of world cinema, including Asian, African, and Latin American contributions to the art form. Cinema as Social Commentary: Films as responses to historical moments, such as wars, revolutions, and cultural shifts. By tracing the interplay between filmmaking and historical events, students will gain a deeper appreciation for the art form’s capacity to influence and be influenced by the world around it.

Alice
Graduate teacher for exam assistance, essay writing, general culture or guided tours
I give private lessons in art history for three years, either for students who need an accompaniment, or for the curious who want to enrich their artistic culture. My teaching adapts precisely to the needs of each student and especially to their way of assimilating information. Former student in difficulty, I developed a method that allows to analyze any type of work, from classical to contemporary, without prior knowledge. I am specialized in the methodology of dissertation / dissertation according to the rules of the French University. (Construction of the plan, development of a common thread, layout etc.) Passionate, I also like to transmit the wonderful stories of the works during introductory courses in art history, artistic culture or guided tours of the museum. My classes are also convivial moments where we can talk about our personal interests, which allows me to direct my students to exhibitions, readings or events related to their subject. My goal is obviously to make my students autonomous, so I give them all the tools they need to know how to provide excellent work without being dependent on the particular teacher at the end of the year. My latest students: - Zaïd: redoubling for the second time his degree in Visual Arts at the Sorbonne because of theoretical subjects, passed his exams successfully this year. He regained confidence and taste to study. -Claire: student at Boulle school in woodcarving redoubled because of his memory. I supervised him in the writing of his new dissertation mixing literary analysis, artistic and scientific discoveries. She validated it brilliantly. -Tian: 30 years old, Chinese student, had no knowledge of Western art history. After a year of private lessons, she was admitted to the GRETA School of Tour Guides. -Aude: I guide Aude and her two teenage children in the big museums to discover the little stories behind each painting. From the Palais de Tokyo to the Louvre Museum I invent for them playful ways to apprehend the works. - Jacqueline: 94 years old, had lost her good humor and was bored. For 2 years now, we have met every week for a moment of sharing and exchange around artistic themes chosen especially for her. It’s a joy for everyone.
