Hello, I'm an Italian high school teacher and a published writer. I have studied Literature and languages in Italy, UK and France and I have a long experience in tutoring students. I adapt my classes depending upon the specific needs of my students, depending on their knowledge and goals. I generally dedicate part of the class to teach grammar in an interactive way, following a book and proposing exercise I create myself to the students. Then I dedicate part of the class to the conversation, so that listening and speaking skills of the student can improve. If the student is at an intermediate or advanced level, I give them more insight about the evolution of Italian language, making reference to Latin and to Italian literature. To make the class more interesting, I often talk about Italian culture related to language.

My experience as a private Italian language tutor began after graduating from college. As an Italian Opera singer, I help since many years singers with the right pronunciation of the repertoire they sing, helping them in shaping the language in a clear way, which also helps the singing. Our lesson will involve speaking, pronunciation exercises and singing. We will start the lesson by reading the text and finding the right direction and emphasis. At beginner and lower intermediate levels, I prefer using a text book/ student book in the first part of the class. I usually use "Nuovissimo Progetto Italiano" and "Arrivederci" by Edilingua, or "Nuovo Espresso" and "Dieci" by Alma Publishing. For the second part of the lesson, I create engaging contents using original videos, press articles, extracts from blogs and social media, literary texts. If the students do not feel comfortable using Italian from scratch, I can switch to English, German, or Dutch. The course fee includes the correction of home assignments.
