I am a professional trumpeter, I have participated in symphony orchestras, wind bands, big band, and small chamber and jazz ensembles. I have extensive experience teaching children, youth and adults. For me it is very important to make music from the first lesson, because there must be a balance between technical practice and its application in small melodies or musical pieces. No matter the musical genre, we will always find a repertoire according to the level and interest of each student. pentatonic is maybe most common scale used and abused by a guitarist but why in jazz music this doesn't t work well as a piano player o a sax player. I can give you some skill to play this scales as a sax player or a pianist. pentatonic is an overrated scale, watch it by another perspective ;)
