Trusted teacher: Herkese merhaba! :) Hello everyone ! In a few words: I am a private tutor of Turkish, with students of all levels and all ages. Turkish is my mother tongue, I am also fluent in English and French. I have experience with very varied profiles: child or adult discovering the language, Turkish or French people wanting to communicate with their Turkish-speaking families or even people wishing to settle, work, study or take competitions in Turkey... By taking classes, you will have access to: During our sessions: - Classes at your own pace, entirely personalized according to your interests, your level and your objectives, - Monitoring a personalized work program adapted to your specific needs, - Effective advice to improve your communication and progress more quickly. Outside of our sessions: - A personal and centralized work (and pleasure!) space, where you will find: a summary of our sessions, different types of tasks and activities, resources in Turkish adapted to your interests, comments on your progress and answers to your questions outside of class, as well as various educational content and resources (gamified exercises, videos, songs, audios, books, documents, images, etc.), - Depending on your level: authentic content in Turkish (intended for native speakers) transformed into interactive videos allowing and facilitating their understanding, - Recording of all our courses (unless you refuse) so that you never lose track of our discussions. Obviously, I adapt to the objectives and specificities of each person's requests while helping you to immerse yourself in a world of Turkish that I create tailor-made for you, to expose you as much as possible to the language in a structured and to communicate in Turkish. Learning, acquiring or even mastering a language is a never-ending journey. Consequently, it seems essential to me to assist you in creating your own tools to strengthen your level of autonomy throughout your journey. To know more about me: I was born in Istanbul in a family of professors. Very early on, I was exposed to teaching and pedagogy. I started giving language lessons as a teenager. I went to two prestigious schools in Istanbul (Kadikoy Anadolu High School and Galatasaray University) which allowed me to master English and French. I arrived in France in 2012 to study Psychology. I graduated with a BAC+5 in Clinical Gerontology Psychology which allowed me to obtain the title of clinical psychologist and psychotherapist. I nevertheless decided to continue my teaching activity which gives me a lot of pleasure. I started giving Turkish lessons to English and French speakers in 2011. Since 2022, I have been certified with Istanbul University to teach Turkish as a foreign language. This training allowed me to perfect my teaching methods and improve my creativity in the design of my tools. In addition, my university studies in neuroscience and psychology allowed me to perfect my knowledge of learning and how memory works. Moreover, being very interested in fun learning tools and games, I designed from A to Z a board game for adults facilitating the teaching and practice of Turkish. In my spare time, I host Turkish learning social media accounts and birdwatch as a birdwatcher! :) Görüşmek dileğiyle! :)

Trusted teacher: Hello everyone, I'm Thaer, a specialized teacher in Arabic (Formal, Levantine, Gulf) & Turkish language. With over 10 years of experience teaching Arabic in Lebanon, Turkey and UAE, I've helped NGOs, journalists, and embassy staff swiftly grasp the language for effective local interaction and business. Additionally, I've supported young learners in understanding Arabic's structure, laying a strong foundation. Most common questions I receive: What dialects do you teach? I teach Formal Arabic (Fus’ha) in addition to Levantine and Gulf dialects. Which one should I choose? It depends on your needs. If you are solely interested in speaking, then I recommend Levantine or Gulf dialects. If you aim to master Arabic comprehensively, then Formal Arabic (Fus’ha) would be more suitable. What is the 30-hour program? The 30-hour program is designed to help you achieve conversational fluency and effectively express yourself and your needs. What comes after the 30 hours? If you are enrolled in the Dialects course, we will continue refining your speaking skills and expanding your vocabulary during lessons. Additionally, new words will be introduced during conversation sessions to aid in memorization and usage within sentences. For those on the Formal Arabic (Fus’ha) track, we will delve deeper into grammar and further develop your understanding of the language. How many hours a week do you recommend? I recommend 2 to 3 sessions per week. Can I learn Formal Arabic (Fus’ha) and one of the dialects simultaneously? Yes, you can take 2 lessons in Formal Arabic (Fus’ha) and 1 lesson in a dialect concurrently, as many of my students do.

Trusted teacher: Hi, I am Hatice from Istanbul. I HAVE BEEN TEACHİNG ONLINE AND FACE TO FACE FOR 25 YEARS. I am a native speaker of Turkish and was born in Istanbul. I have been teaching Turkish to foreigners and I have taught hundreds of students from all ages and professions for more than 20 years. I am a professional English teacher but I like teaching Turkish more as it is my mother tongue and it is a great pleasure for me to share its secrets and beauty. While teaching I also love giving some useful information about the culture, people, cuisine, films and literature in Turkey to help you get connected to Turkish culture. I prepare written and verbal dialogues in the areas the student is interested in. I am from Istanbul but I traveled almost all cities, mountains, rivers, lakes in Turkey. I am a person who likes less traveled roads and back streets. Traveling around the world and reading on the areas of spirituality, philosophy, psychology, and literature are my number one hobbies. I lived and worked in London, Toronto, and S. Korea. Living as an expat and learning several languages have helped me having sympathy with my students. Motivation, feeling relaxed and setting realistic targets, in the beginning, are usually the first thing to go. As for my formal education, I studied Economics, International Relations, Western Philosophy, and American language and literature at the university (MA and BA). And after my 40 years old, I learned classical Arabic and Persian and started to study Islamic spirituality at the doctorate level. I taught English at Prep. school at Istanbul Technical University and Yeditepe University and am retired. Ever since I could remember I have been a teacher. Now I only teach Turkish privately and translate classical novels from English to Turkish. I translated 12 books from English to Turkish. I teach Turkish that is tailored for each student. Each student is unique for me and I know that every student has her/his own way of learning. If you are a beginner I give a short lecture about the history of Turkish and its characteristics and help you find your way in this very logical, consistent and elegant language. You understand that Turkish is different but that does not necessarily mean difficulty. From the first lesson, you start speaking Turkish and find yourself in a dialogue. I can teach at my place and your place (all around Istanbul). I use several books using a grammar-based approach integrated with communicative methods to boost the development of all language skills. But we always focus on TALK, TALK, TALK. As a language learner for many years, I know one can learn, improve and take pleasure in a foreign language only by talking and communicating. It is essential to get direct pleasure from what you have learned. My aim is to motivate and inspire you to speak Turkish ignoring minor mistakes and without thinking grammar. I try to keep in contact with my students almost every day through whatsapp and email. And start some short dialogues.

Talk and Understand Turkish easily and well with Başak who is Experienced and Patient Teacher (Online or In-Person Lessons) (Maltepe)
Başak
I am following a class with Başak to learn turkish. The lessons are held in english. This course covers pronunciation, grammar and free speaking which are also adapted to daily life situations as well as speaking about yourself. I have experienced a very well organized and structured teacher on a professional basis. The teacher gives clear instructions, pays attention to the pronunciation and corrects you when needed, which is crucial for the turkish pronunciation. The course fees contain the tuition as booked and course material as the class is accompanied by a book (workbook and exercise book) and audio files. The books are sent to you in advance, makes it very convenient to take a print out or as a digital version on your tablet/PC/phone. Between the lessons homework will be assigned and checked by her via mail and discussed in the next lesson. So far, I am very happy with the lessons and I am also confident that I will improve my turkish steadily in the future with her. Thanks

LEARNING TURKISH IS EASY AND FUN WITH A PROFESSIONAL TEACHER (Maltepe)
Hatice
We’ve had two in-person sessions with Hatice so far and they have been excellent. Her classes are engaging and accessible to students of different levels. In a class, she is very skilled at offering depth for someone who has some turkish understanding as well as being accessible to a beginner. I hope to continue a mix of online and in person lessons with her!

Turkish Speaking lessons/ speaking / learn by living (Aziziye)
Lina
I spent a week with Lina ”learning by living”. We toured Ankara, went to museums, bookstores, bazars, hung out at Lina and Batu's cafe, cooked together, went to Lina's yoga class, etc. And everything we did, at least as long as my brain wasn't exploding from language overload, was accompanied by language instruction. It was absolutely fantastic!
