Trusted teacher: Have you always wanted to learn how to dance but didn't know where to start? Do you have some dancing experience but need to work on your confidence or boost your skills / technique? Come and dance with me! My classes are for adults of any age and ability who want to learn to dance, or for anyone who already has dance experience but wants to explore themselves more as a soloist. I aim to develop your confidence with movement and body awareness throughout our sessions, and also work on your freestyling, skills picking up choreography, or even help you choreograph something of your own if you wish! My personal approach to dance is bringing fun to it! If you don't enjoy yourself, you won't continue to learn. Having fun is key to progressing, and we will get to improve technique and confidence along the way! My sessions are an hour long but 15 mins of those minutes are dedicated to warming up, cooling down and also discussing your day / week and your mental state before we start. This is so we can use the thoughts and feelings of the day as tools for our session to help release tension and boost your energy! The meaty part of the session will focus on some techniques, movement and music exploration and short choreographed combinations. Experienced, patient, attentive and enthusiastic professional Guzheng tutor. 💬Trilingual (Cantonese, Mandarin, English), and I'm native in Cantonese and Mandarin, fluent in English. I teach Guzheng and Chinese music theory from beginners to advanced students, or for professional purposes. My teaching styles is mixed Chinese and Taiwanese, figuring out which is the best way for students.definitely bringing you a different learning style. I will ask my students lots "Why" on their performance. It helps students think, have their own character in music. We will focus on basic practice and technical aspects, such as posture, finger strength, movements and articulation. I focus on expression and interpretation of different music pieces, how student think of the notes and how to present music. We start with tuning and doing basic training, revision of last lesson for 15 minutes, follow by learning those pieces in detail for about 20 - 25 minutes. The last 5-10 minutes will be dedicated to the review and assignments. Besides all these, I will teach basic Chinese Music theory as well to help with better understanding and learning on Music. *Part of basic training will always in every lesson. This helps students to have a better control of their fingers' independence, and to strengthen every techniques. For specific learning Chinese music theory students, please bring with a notebook to mark down those key points.
