I have a Higher Degree in singing. The objective of my classes is for the student to find their own voice and know how to get the best out of it, while being able to sing with maximum comfort and in a healthy way. In my classes I propose to start with breathing exercises and vocalizations to warm up the voice and practice different aspects in isolation. Afterwards, the class focuses on working on a repertoire that motivates the student, that is appropriate for their voice and also helps them improve their abilities.

The answer is YES. Depending on physicality, practice and time... everyone in their own time span can learn to sing efficiently and with power and emotion. I THINK I ́M TONE-DEAF: Well, guess what? There is no such thing! Not being able to match pitches on command has nothing to do with inability or some kind of ̈disorder ̈. It ́s about muscle memory... we will learn this. I ALWAYS END UP SINGING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER OR SOUNDING THE SAME WAY... We will bust things like imitation and only singing the same riffs over and over, by building aware of how your own natural voice works and applying it to your singing voice. I HATE THE SOUND OF MY OWN VOICE! Well guess what? So do I! So does everyone, even professionals.. and listening back to recordings.. YUCK! (at first).. Everyone is their own worst critic. However, we can learn to analyze your own with a technical ear instead of a critical ear, as well as focus on how the notes feel, and the better they feel the better they will sound... trust me :) In our classes you will learn to sing with ease and, make what was once a challenge to you, very easy! I encourage versatility because I am a highly versatile singer 😊 We address breath support, sound placement, tone, pitch, muscle memory, flexibility, range, diction, dynamic and performance. I am a very technical teacher and I explaim everything in great detail and you will receive notes in an email each week with directions and exercises from the previous lesson. Dear students: My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education. My experience runs mostly in early and classical music with an active performing life, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals. As a docent or vocal coach I've collaborate with different academic institutions and private artistic projects, focusing mostly on international students or social integration programs. I have years of experience teaching children, teenagers and adults in both Latin-America and Europe, therefore understanding different appreciation levels and needs. My main goal is to help the student discover her or his voice while enjoying making music. **Class suggestions and indications** No experience is needed just bring your enthusiasm and favorite music. From my childhood I have been studying music and art: sang in choir and solo, played piano, painted, studied music history and literature, solfeggio. Later in college I have also learned choir conducting, had ensemble and choir singing lessons, cultural studies. During last year in university I had pedagogy practice at university and at private art school (where I worked as a music tutor before the war - piano, voice). I truly enjoyed working with students. They all were different age (8 - 40+ years old) and level. But all were very interesting and work was pleasant. My education was very various: my core subjects were conducting, choir, voice, piano. So it allowed me to work with children, teens and adults with quite wide range of interests and needs: some students needed/wanted to learn particular composition(s), sometimes pop songs arrangements, some were interested in “introduction” to the music, some wanted to renew skills they gained in their childhood and continue their journey to the music world. In addition I prepared presentations (which contained information about cultural and historical background and musical and character/art analysis). So after graduation from choir conducting faculty (which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in many important compatible branches) I concentrated on studying classical singing and piano, expanded my cultural studies and analysis knowledge, practiced solfeggio and harmony.

I teach vocal technique through body awareness. We’ll dive into the essential principles of singing: breath, resonance, and articulation. We’ll start with some breathing exercises to get warmed up, followed by vocal exercises to work on technique, and then you’ll get to sing a song of your choice. We’ll also bust some common myths about singing, and you’ll be amazed at how much you can learn in such a short time! It’s going to be a lot of fun!

These classes are designed for boys and girls who want to have a comprehensive approach to music through games, songs, stories and body percussion. It can be done accompanied by parents or guardians. It seeks to develop an emotional relationship with music, favoring individual expression and learning the basic principles of music, which will be useful later when starting to learn an instrument. We will do rhythm, intonation and ear training activities. We will use different instruments, taking into account those that the student has.

As an Italian Opera singer, I help since many years singers with the right pronunciation of the repertoire they sing, helping them in shaping the language in a clear way, which also helps the singing. Our lesson will involve speaking, pronunciation exercises and singing. We will start the lesson by reading the text and finding the right direction and emphasis. We will focus on the sounds and how to produce them. In the second part of the lesson, we will apply all of the above to the singing!
