Understanding Art History, from the Renaissance to Contemporary Art

Do you love Italian people, history, and food and you would like to speak the language? I am a CEDILS-certified Italian teacher born and raised in Florence, and I've also been a language student myself for a long time! If you want to be able to interact with Italians quickly, I can give you some tips about correct pronunciation, fundamental grammar, and vocabulary, but also Italian art and popular culture, which I think is fundamental to understanding the mentality and the country that you are going to interact with. Lessons will be tailored according to the student's needs, level, and mother language and focused on the conversation. I am also available to proofread your writings.

I am an international contemporary art curator with 15 years experience working with public and private collections. I am currently undertaking a PhD, developing alternative contemporary art narratives within heritage collections. This course is intended to students andadults who want to familiarise with curatorial practice prior to undertake a Master, to current students in curatorial pracitce for further advice and tutorials, as well as to emergent artists or students in contemporay art who ned further support in working with a space. Good morning ! I am currently a master's student in general history at the University of Geneva. My studies allowed me to acquire a solid base of knowledge and skills, both in writing and in research. My knowledge of historical facts as well as Latin and ancient Greek will allow me, I hope, to be able to push the explanations given by the teachers in class and perhaps lift the veil on possible misunderstandings on the part of the students. The objective is to support students in difficulty as well as those who would simply like to consolidate their knowledge. In both cases, I am keen to be able to make the disciplines that I teach a little more digestible and to arouse students' interest in history, literature and the arts, to show them that not everything is not just a matter of stupid and nasty cramming, and that understanding always takes precedence over rote.
