The instrument used for the classes would be a keyboard but the learnings can be applied to any instrument you already play. I can help with critical listening, ear training, solo building and many other practical skills. Any theoretical concept is taught based on the needs of the student and to serve the purpose of their own way of self expression. Hello everyone! My name is Hoang with a background of classical piano in Vietnam. Currently I’m pursuing the study of this amazing instrument at the Liszt Academy as a BA student. My lessons are specifically for absolute beginners who don’t know where to start. My method emphasizes on the most basic skills such as how to read the music sheet, organize the piece into sentences, periods and phrases, etc. Of course, it would take more than that to successfully be able to play the piano. However, with me you can take one step at a time without feeling overwhelmed by too much complicated music theory. Instead, you can still progress gradually under my guidances. The most important thing is, the lessons are made for YOU, to give you a strong foundation so you can have the most optimal starting line. No more wandering in the dark with self-taught piano books or getting super fast results but feeling stuck afterwards with piano learning apps. With a mentor, you will have a map to piano learning that guides you away from deadly traps and take you to a direct path to your destination. Please be aware that, my lessons are not magic wands and I am definitely not a fairy who can make you skillful at the piano overnight. For a strong foundation, you will have to be very patient. Learning a new skill is all about whether or not you can grasp the foundation, but it will take far longer than you would imagine. But do not be discouraged! Because it’s my job to facilitate your journey and motivate you towards what you desire! We shall conquer this trial together! As mentioned before, I’m trained in classical music but also enthusiastic about music from entertainment mediums like movies, anime or games. Through my courses I will teach all levels of piano playing. My approach will consist of forming an individual repertoire according to each student's needs. In case that students want to integrate piano lessons with composing, that is also something I would strongly encourage, since piano is the most frequently used instrument for composing music.

I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts. I give private piano lessons for all levels and styles (classical, jazz, Latin, new age, pop...), as well as music theory, composition and improvisation lessons. At the end of the semester every student will perform at the winter and summer concerts held every year and will have the possibility of making a recording session with the material worked during the term. With this, the student will not only be able to see his progress and work, but also will give him a direct experience of performing and working on a live or studio recording session, which is a fundamental part of the developing process of every musician. Piano lessons in Jazz, Classical, or Modern styles; depending on the student's interest, we can mix a bit of everything or delve deep into one style. Main focus applied to overcome the problem of piano: mastering two-handed rhythm. To achieve this, I teach left-hand grooves and foundations while working on improvisation, harmony, melodies, accompaniments, and everything there is to play with the right hand. I introduce piano techniques such as walking bass, tenths, stride, drop 2, and more. From my experience, rhythm, "Groove", and the connection with the music in the moment it is being played are the most challenging aspects to learn and integrate. Thus, I give significant emphasis to these topics in my sessions, especially those aimed at playing polyrhythmic instruments such as the piano.
