As an Italian Opera singer, I help since many years singers with the right pronunciation of the repertoire they sing, helping them in shaping the language in a clear way, which also helps the singing. Our lesson will involve speaking, pronunciation exercises and singing. We will start the lesson by reading the text and finding the right direction and emphasis. We will focus on the sounds and how to produce them. In the second part of the lesson, we will apply all of the above to the singing!

Egg tempera is one of the most ancient historical art painting technique. It preserved as a main technique to paint orthodox religious icons. It is possible to learn it and paint your own icon. I have 9 years of practice teaching people how to do it. We work together step by step to understand the technique, the way to prepare wooden panel to paint an icon and the techniques of making a good project to make the icon fit to the board. We also learn how to make gold leaf layer on the nimbs. Your icon will be a real, crafted icon.

In this course, you will learn a range of linguistic methods and learn the terms used for describing a specific aspect of language or phenomenon (lexis, morphemes, and 'telegraphic stage' to give a few examples). The course requires you to explore your own data using quantitative and qualitative analysis (eg: how frequently are slang phrases used? Are there new auxiliaries being created?). No historical linguistics or literature is involved, but language change or specific traits will be sampled via your own data collection (if this is what is demanded in your course). As many students need to present a "year abroad" dissertation at University level (3rd year in the UK of a Modern Languages or Linguistics Undergraduate course) I can help you to research and structure your year abroad work, both in English (Linguistics) and Romance languages (French, Italian, Spanish). The topics that have arisen from recent discussions with students relate to French Caribbean writing, Italian resistance and reprisals in Rome (Fosse Ardiatine), and Spanish Etica franquista in films (among others).

I am an external Italian curator during the official “Plida” certifications. I have a C1 level in English and Spanish, I am also an Italian speaker and have extensive experience teaching children. Colorimetry is a fundamental tool to begin to understand the behavior of colors, where they come from, and how to obtain them. We will see the color wheel, primary and secondary colors, and how to apply them to create different types of palettes. In turn, we will see the triads of colors to generate cold and warm palettes, and you will experience first-hand how to create those colors. We will also have a brief part of research into pigments (the source of color) and works of art throughout history, to see the use of different painting techniques. Since we are going to focus in our classes on color theory, it is not strictly necessary that you know how to draw or paint, or that you have knowledge of perspective or others. This course is designed to complement your knowledge of art and improve your ability to choose the colors and palette you want to work with. As a bonus, this course will also help you apply your knowledge when applying makeup or applying makeup, since if it is something that interests you, let me know and we will incorporate it into the course. We will see how to apply colors according to the person's eye color and skin tones.
