Beginner pattern making and Garment construction class

Art is a special medium that can be used in many different forms to elicit one's feelings, emotions, and purview of the world around them both its beauty and ugliness. My class will be a way for students who either have little to no experience or a lot and create work that resonates with them and o just have fun and enjoy the art world without being held behind ''perfection''. I will cover many facets of art such as painting (acrylic, oils and mainly water colour) as well as sketching and colouring, as well as photography and how we are able to capture an idea in a photograph.

I teach fine art with an emphasis on painting and drawing, you will learn how to draw using charcoal, graphite, pencil and paint using oils, acrylic, ink and watercolour. However the lessons are deigned to experiment with as many materials and approaches to making art as possible in order to for you open up your practice. The tutorials are also designed to engage in critical thinking, discussing your work in an informal but constructive way, and learning about art history by looking at other artists past and present. Art is about being passionate and finding something you want to express in a visual language, and I’m here to help facilitate your vision.

I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen. I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist. I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns. In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on. You will not only receive individual coaching but as encourage you to look other artists or take into account other references connected with your concerns. Finding, discussing and retaking solutions together are the core of my classes.

I offer visual arts and portfolio preparation classes for students of all ages (children, teens, and adults) who are interested in strengthening their artistic skills and/or building a compelling portfolio for high school or college applications. Lessons are tailored to each student’s level and goals, covering drawing, painting, mixed media, and conceptual development. Whether you're just beginning your artistic journey or preparing for admission into an art program, I provide supportive, personalized guidance to help you grow creatively and present your work with confidence. ***My availability is flexible! I am here to help you surpass yourself! ;) Professional dancer, choreographer and teacher, I am creative, empathic, dynamic, and versatile. Holder of a Bachelor's degree in contemporary dance and creation of multidisciplinary performances from the Iceland University of the Arts, a Master 2 in Art Research & International Creation from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, I am an artist member of the International Dance Council at UNESCO. Since 2020, I have been engaged in academic research on medical and spiritual dance whose practice is called Transcendental Dance (Transcendental Embodiment). My professional experience extends internationally where I had the opportunity to work alongside various renowned companies and to organize internships in France, Iceland, Sweden, Mexico, Czech Republic, Spain, Turkey and Asia. Also, I had the opportunity to dance for haute couture houses during Fashion Week in Paris. I teach contemporary dance, technical floorwork (floor work), contact dance and classical dance. My classes focus on mindfulness, musicality, harmonization of energy flows, improvisation, muscle strengthening and coaching in choreographic composition for competitions, exams, galas, and weddings. I am an artist and philosopher from Amsterdam currently living in Antwerp. I studied in London where I acquired a BA from Art Academy London and a BA in philosophy from St Mary's University London. Artistic development starts by identifying your artistic interest. As artists, we don’t always know why we draw and paint the things that we do. Yet they are not random. What captivates us or draws us towards certain artworks? This might be the tonal way in which light reflects, structural forms or mathematical division. The point being, is that we all have such aesthetic interests and step 1 is finding out what interests you! Step 2 is helping you express your interests through painting techniques, styles and materiality. But it all starts with you. What do you want to say? And how? I will help you do this through discussion, looking at your previous work (if you have any), introducing you to a LARGE variety of artists, potentially copying their styles. I adjust my classes according to your needs. The goal is simple: to come to understand your artistic interest, help you find techniques to express them and develop your artistic language. (Please note that just because you have found an artistic interest and a way to express it, it does not mean that you must do only one thing for the rest of your life. It is the downfall of creativity to repeat and paint the same way over and over again. Instead, allow your interests to drive your creativity. Let it be the starting point, venture out and discover it from various angles and ways of expressing it. But also be mindful that as we grow our interests can change and as they change, we must remain honest and respond accordingly such that our artistic language can also grow.) Have questions? With such a vast accessibility to photography, how does one distinguish the difference between a "good" photo and one that might not be memorable? How can the way a collection of photos is selected, formatted, and sequenced give meaning? In this course, students will begin by learning the basic functions of a camera, including ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. A manual film or digital camera is required for the course As the class continues, we will discuss styles of photography, notable photographers in history, and how to derive meaning from your images. Instructor will provide constructive feedback on the student's work and will direct the course based on the student's unique interests and style.

In this class, learn how to improve your artwork with the basics. We’ll go over simple anatomy, color theory, and how to exaggerate to your own style. Each class can be tailored to your own needs and what you want to get out of it. We can work on character designs, comics, prop designs, you name it!

Hi, my name is August, I am a practicing sculptor, artist and teacher. I welcome creatives of all ages in my online workshop, it's a safe space where you can explore your ideas and where I will help bring them to reality. Through video links and my experience and expertise, I help develop abilities, support personal interests and create classes based on your inner world, without grades, boundaries or pressure. In a world where there is too much information and too little silence, I invite you to stop, listen to yourself and start creating from within freely, honestly, truly. My method is based on the Montessori method, the works and research of B.M. Nemensky and my own experience of teaching creativity for more than 10 years. Working in a leading cultural center in Russia, in private kindergartens and in volunteer initiatives taught me that there is no standard black and white approach. I try to find my own approach to each individual as a separate universe. It is important for me to show that there are no perfect or not perfect drawings, interests, skills, it is important that they are created out of personal curiosity and interest.

I started very young, and believe that all students have infinite potential to learn an art form, no matter what access they have to materials. Whatever materials you have available, will be what I use! I'm very passionate about demonstrating that its not the materials that matter, it's the artist's passion. I'm very excited to work with you and/or your child! In this workshop, I can show you the basics of acrylic painting; how to mix paint, what colors to use, how to use a reference. I can help you work towards completing a finished piece to be proud of. Be prepared to possibly get messy and have fun! If you decide we're a good match, and want to continue working with me, we will expand on these concepts and work on curating a list of goals you'd like to achieve. By the end of our time together, however many sessions that may be (I can work with you to create a plan based on a desired amount of sessions), I hope to have helped you achieve all of your goals in painting and improve your confidence within the medium!
