But of course practice is vital. This class requires basic musical skills. So be sure that you are able to repeat (sing) that you hear.

pentatonic is maybe most common scale used and abused by a guitarist but why in jazz music this doesn't t work well as a piano player o a sax player. I can give you some skill to play this scales as a sax player or a pianist. pentatonic is an overrated scale, watch it by another perspective ;)

Elam graduated from the New school for Jazz and Contemporary music, and has had the opportunity to play and perform with distinguished artists such as Abraham Burton, Eric McPherson, David Bryant, Duane Eubanks, Jason Palmer, Joel Ross, Nasheet Waits, Will Sellenraad, Chris Beck, David Virelles, Donald Edwards, Mike DiRubbo, George Coleman Jr., Jonathan Voltzok, Yuval Cohen, Spike Wilner, Anthony Pinciotti, Ben Solomon, Don Hahn, Tom Oren and others. Elam has performed internationally in Bern, Berlin, Belgrade, Paris, Marseille, Vienna, Lublijana, Klagenfurt, Rostov, Zagreb, Krakow, Prague, Vigo and other places. Elam has performed at the Red Sea Jazz Festival twice with the Yuval Cohen Sextet and the JT and the magnificent soul big band, as well as at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Marseille Jazz festival, Bern Jazz Festival, Tel Aviv Jazz festival, Smalls Jazz club, Mezzrow, Duc des Lombards, Cangas Jazz Festival and others. I studied Jazz at Berklee College of Music. I was a classic pianist. It was not easy to adjust my classic chord progression to Jazz progression. There must be many people struggling to play jazz with classic music fingering. I can help you to make your sounds like real jazz music. Playing piano is so much fun, When you play, you got to sing.and make it more fun. Most of the piano course start with white keys in C major. My lesson starts with F#/Gb scale which is the pentatonic scale. You won't have any fear to deal with black keys. You are not supposed to count music. You need to feel it, groove it and enjoy it. Let's have fun together!!

Each voice is different and each person approaches art in their own way. In our classes we aim to find the best possible way to realize your musical goals. For that I aim to create a comfortable environment where one feels excited to sing and challenge themselves. We will go over the techniques of singing, vocal health, other vocal skills, understanding of harmony and bringing out emotion while singing. Songwriting is another area that I'd love to help in. We work on creating melodies, working on harmonies and chords, and the reason why they work the way they do. We also work on creative songwriting and arranging techniques, as well as learning how to make sheet music for it that any musician in the world can pick up, read and play (in case you become a big star and do a world tour haha). I can also help Beginner students at the Piano. Technique, posture and music theory are aspects we would work on! I've been teaching people of all ages since I was 21. During my 8 years of teaching, I've taught at some of the best local music schools in New Delhi (like One World College of Music and Blue Note School of Music) and have also been tutoring people in private 1v1 classes on both voice and piano.
