Trusted teacher: In this class I will help you navigate the content and give you tips and tricks on how to prepare for the exams and complete your assignments (e.g. IAs/EEs for the IBD Programme). It is suited for students who want to revise before an exam, switch from standard to higher level subject, want to have a head start on the course material before starting IB or need help with their assignments. First and foremost my lessons are tailored to YOUR needs - how you learn makes a big impact on your understanding of school material. I create a comfortable, relaxed and motivating space where you can come to at ANY knowledge/skill level and ASK all of your questions. :) Despite my science-heavy background I make the lessons creative and fun and encourage my students to think outside of the science subjects. My tutoring style is discussion-based. We will have a conversation about the subjects rather than a lecture, which will give you the tools and confidence to better synthesize the course content and present your ideas in a specific manner. I create my own materials for each class, including definitions, calculations, diagrams and past-exam questions. I use a touchscreen tablet to interactively annotate our class worksheets, draw structures and mechanisms, write down chemical reactions and step-by-step calculations.

After my first lesson with Benson, i have felt more confidence in my skills with chemistry than i have in many years. Where I previously felt very subconscious and unable to answer questions, i have now been able to answer difficult IB exams questions with ease. Benson provided me a safe and comfortable environment which has left me excited for my next class at school to show what i have learned with a fresh confidence! I highly recommend this tutor to anyone who struggles with confidence in both themselves and their subjects.

Our 12th grade IB student daughter has only had one one-on-one and one online lesson so far and we can say that Maria has gone above and beyond in providing reliable feedback on an IA in HL chem.
